The new forms look like knock-off toys. I don't like them nor how they're obtained. Piccolo just wishes for a new fucking form and Gohan just relives the Cell fight again. Even by DBS standards this shit is lazy as fuck.

That said, it was still cool to watch, I just hoped for better.

Danzenshuu guides say that he got it during the timeskip. Him not having SS2 is also far more speculative than him having it.
In the context of the manga, no, it's not more speculative, but I didn't know about that guide stating otherwise. In that case he did.

I'm willing to wait until August as long as I can hear Hiroshi Kamiya's voice on the big screen.

YES! I would love to see a "take Marron to work at the police station" subplot where shit goes down and he risks her life all the while she has a blast! So much potential to go down in filler history like with Z's driving school episode! One of my favorite little scenes in Super is when Krillin and 18 are training together for the ToP (a great character arc for them since she shows tough love, but it ends on a very sweet note) in their yard, and the neighbors think they're having martial problems. All the while Marron is just cheering them on. :heart-full:

That reminds me, Toriyama: I'm still waiting on my Great Saiyaman and Saiyaman 2 (that's fucking stupid, why they didn't simply call Videl Saiyawoman is beyond me) misadventures movie! Chop-chop! The last time you touched him was in Super years ago, now get to it before you pull a Launch on the fans!

See you get it, Dragon Ball has all the ingredients for a comfy as hell honobono series and Superhero proves it. Fight autists will attempt to veto the idea because they have to have a new transformation to fawn over/bamco needs soemthing to make toys out of, but with Dr. Hedo working for Bulma now that can easily be addressed by 18 getting an upgrade and new combat outfit while Krillin pulls through by using his brain and developing clever techniques. Marron being oblivious to her own peril would go a long way to differentiate her from Pan and eventually Bra as well, and it would be a good chance to explore an undeveloped character.

Speaking of Krillin and 18, their scenes in the movie have rekindled my faith in the series going forward. They don't have too much dialogue, they don't hit Cell Max particularly hard, but they still get some focus and going from their interaction with one another even a layman can tell their dialogue was written by someone who loves the characters. Either toriyama got better meds or has a new handler who wants to avoid Z syndrome as much as possible, and we all stand to benefit.

As for Saiyaman 1 & 2, Gohan is a dork and I'm certain he will try making a new costume to match his Final state. Videl teaching martial arts is a small touch that has the potential to keep her relevant in the future, and if she's endorsing sending Pan off to Piccolo's for training then she'll never stray too far from martial arts herself.
Yeah you're right she should start dressing like a Doronjo
It'd be a great parody costume if one of the games elaborates on Baby's world corruption storyline.

Super Hero global release dates (European dates TBA) and the English dub trailer are out!

Seems like a familiar voice dodged a bullet and made a better choice. And while I'm confident the Americas will boost sales (assuming most fans aren't too jaded about the spoilers and CG), I wonder how LatAm will react to their Gohan's new VA (also TBA), after Luis Alfonso Mendoza passed away?

DBS:SH ain't that bad and I wouldn't look at it as a movie that is meant to be as big as Broly. While it was as a lazy rehash of a lot of content, such as the RRA and Cell Max,I like the world building and development of Pan, Piccolo and Gohan. I just hope that it will lead DB down a better path once it goes past the 28th/End of Z and into what would have been the GT Era.

7.8/10

I saw it. It's fine. I liked that they sidelined Goku and Vegeta and let the other characters shine this time.
But Norio Wakamoto was wasted, though. His new villain was just a monster with no lines except screaming and growling. You could have gotten anyone to do that.

That's the funny part: Freeza was revived and given a new form to stay competitive and Buu never left, but Cell was passed over for a literal giant screaming retard.

They've got to figure out something to do with Buu instead of doing the "Buu's asleep!" cop-out they do every time. Even making him the "Worf" of the team would be an improvement.
I would say his candy beam makes it difficult to write fights for him, but on the other hand if Jiren can break a time trap then there would be nothing unusual about a new bad guy being so strong he flat out flexes his way out of the spell. I think the main problem is Buu is infamous for plot holes and no one wants to take the time to course correct.

I don't think he minds. Last fall he played a vampire goldfish:
