I might be misreading Toriyama's SEG Quote (SEGs are the ones that give explicit multiplier for SS however, by the way) and taking "From what it was up to that point" wrong, but I think he is saying when he was designing the original SS he felt it was more like a x10 multiplier. SS being x10 makes no sense when Goku was stated just a few chapters in that same fight to be getting his ass kicked when he was using Kaio Ken x10 against Frieza and could only tie him with x20. What happens on-panel surpasses word of god.

However if he means up to the point after the Frieza saga it was x10, maybe that makes more sense. I might be an idiot here and am not reading something clear here. Maybe he did mean after the Frieza Saga he always saw it as more like x10 whenever he drew it. But if he meant from the get-go he felt it was supposed to be x10 well facts on-panel don't care about his feelings.
Toriyama can't even remember what color a slime is.
I hope that's a bad angle for Gohan lmao

That's a bit better. I'm just glad my boy got his due after so long.
Lot of W's being handed out in this movie, makes me wonder who will star in the next one if the speculation about the series trying to shake off the "wait for goku lol" sentiment holds true. I wouldn't mind something focusing on 18 & Krillin's relationship, maybe a broad strokes adaptation of Fighterz now that 21 is official.

The hair style really fucks up what would be a rather benign form.

Orange Piccolo isn't too offensive to me(especially now that I know the reference) but his swoleness looks more like person that died trying to clear out an Asian murder hornet nest, than a strong guy.

That Red Cell is Semi perfect form instead of imperfect is a loss, and I always hate giant opponents in Dragonball. I'm not super upset at someone fucking up trying to recreate Gero's work for a villain origin, though doing so at Super's power level is a stretch.

So is Goku's saiyan family reunion is going to happen next or no?
Vegeta may have meant that he had better control over his own power than Gohan had on his. Gohan is technically strong, but he hadn’t been keeping up with training and was essentially “out of shape”. So Gohan is stronger but can’t properly channel his power enough to actually use it properly. Kinda like that Super Sayin version Future Trunks used against Cell: technically stronger, but too slow to actually be of proper use.

It be like training to be the fastest runner, only to slack off for a year and then suddenly race a decent runner.
See this is the part where the whole "he wasn't SS2" shit gets silly, cause now Vegeta, saying stuff that implies he's stronger, ackshually means "better Ki control" by "stronger". Like what? It's like reading the tea leaves. If that was the plotpoint, he would've just something to convey that. Much like he would've said "I needed the M on my forehead to unlock SS2", if that was the plot. But he didn't. Instead emphasis was put on him training hard via Goku's dialogue, after he sees Vegeta go SS2 and they fight for a bit.

The whole "out of shape" debuff bullshit is not nearly as extreme in DBZ as people think it is thanks to Super. Gohan's a lot weaker than he was as a kid, Vegeta and Goku say that a number of times, but Gohan still matches up well with Dabura, who's atleast as strong as Perfect Cell, and he's just a SS1 in their fight. Say Dabura was holding back, Gohan should still be about as strong as Goku was against Cell. He clearly didn't regress so much as this idea claims, certainly not nearly far enough that Vegeta would be stronger than him as just a mastered SS1 if Gohan went SS2.

This also doesn't tackle the part where Vegeta is SS2 against Kid Buu.
You assume I even read your live journal post--by God, why would I when you're another run of the mill retard clinging to that fanbook?
I assumed you could read, though that was presumptuous, my bad. For the third time, SSJ_Ness asked if this was just fan theory shit, and the answer was, no there's official material that also says so. Secondly, "clinging", fag I didn't put that shit on a pedestal, all I said was that it's an official guidebook by Shueshia, which it is.

Maybe don't immediately star screeching like a spastic just cause you see the word "Daizenshuu".
As for vegta bragging about being as strong as Gohan, you're a retard for not remembering that base form improvements translates to the super states and that Gohan is way out of shape like SteelPlatedHeart explains. No, Dabra being as strong as pre inflation cell doesn't mean vegeta made it to ss2 either--Goku was able to handle himself against that cell without it being a one sided match and assuming vegeta couldn't close and surpass that gap in seven years of training is stupid and doubly so when you're the one whitknighting his 5'2 ass in the first place.
Lol read above, muh out of shape shit doesn't hold water. Gohan fought Dabura (= Perfect Cell) as a SS1 and held his own. Maybe read the manga sometime. Then among other things, you'd know Goku outright said he was going 100% while Cell was holding back and he had no chance of beating him. So, Dabura would still be a difficult and probably losing fight for a SS1. But for a SS2 it would be a cake walk, like Cell was pre self destruct for Gohan. Hence the context for Vegeta's shittalk.

Why are you so butthurt about Vegeta getting SS2 off screen? It's not like Goku got SS2 off screen either. Oh wait.

Whiteknighting? Are actually autistic? I cannot comprehend what retarded train of thought you'd have to have to give yourself that impression. I was mocking you the last time I called you schizo, now it seems like it was merely an astute observation.

YES! I would love to see a "take Marron to work at the police station" subplot where shit goes down and he risks her life all the while she has a blast! So much potential to go down in filler history like with Z's driving school episode! One of my favorite little scenes in Super is when Krillin and 18 are training together for the ToP (a great character arc for them since she shows tough love, but it ends on a very sweet note) in their yard, and the neighbors think they're having martial problems. All the while Marron is just cheering them on. :heart-full:

That reminds me, Toriyama: I'm still waiting on my Great Saiyaman and Saiyaman 2 (that's fucking stupid, why they didn't simply call Videl Saiyawoman is beyond me) misadventures movie! Chop-chop! The last time you touched him was in Super years ago, now get to it before you pull a Launch on the fans!

I blame the CG which, while noticeably improved from Super Hero's first look, is hit and miss with certain designs which goes back to Gohan's new form.

Why should we take his word here then? Didn't Toriyama once admit his own fans and editors know Dragon Ball better than he does. If he suddenly said he meant Guldo to be the strongest Ginyu Force member should we just ignore everything that happens in the manga and just agree Guldo is the strongest? When even word of god admits he is fallible, then he shouldn't be taken serious when it contradicts his material. Also the same guidebook with the interview about that has SS at 50x I'm pretty sure.
