I remember when i went through a dragon ball z phase, i was marathoning the show and my dad asked if i got to the part where the guys beat up the fat pink baby. I was confused what he was talking about and realized later he was talking about majin buu.

Was the broly movie good or bad?
Dunno. There's a cam of it online but it's a very rough one so I haven't checked it out. Mazinger Infinity showed me that Toei movies are really a lot more fun on a big screen so I'm gonna try to catch one of the USA screenings in a couple of weeks.

Was the broly movie good or bad?

According to several people on YouTube, it's very much a Dragon Ball movie. And I mean that in the sense that is seems to have a lot of the Toriyama dumb-charm that the original manga and first couple of movies had and is much less like the more generic movies we got in later Z.

At the very least, I know people who have said that this version of Broly is a major improvement, so look forward to that at least.

I saw the Broly movie tonight, and I thought it was pretty good. The fight scenes were amazing, and it was nice to see Dragonball Minus animated. There were also some nods to the roadshow movies, which was cool. That said, while the dub was very good, I wish I had seen it in Japanese, since Tomokazu Sugita had a part in it and I would have gotten to hear Aya Hisakawa as the new Bulma.

I too enjoyed Broly, it's very funny at times, it has scenes that would not seem out of place in the Abridged version.

It's very good for a Dragon Ball movie. That isn't a high bar though. If you love Dragon Ball you'll like the movie. It's slow, has almost no plot, the fights have great moments and good animation, but also a lot of CGI beam storms and what not. Again, if you like Dragon Ball you've accepted that kind of stuff, but if not it's not something most people will like.

Broly was fucking great, that last 30 minutes especially were pure fucking kino. As a character Broly is pretty great too, giving him some semblance of a heart and past and even giving him his own crew was a good idea.

Broly had some of the best spectacle you could expect from an anime movie. The animation blew Super and even Z out of the water and seeing Gogeta vs. Broly get a full anime treatment was a gift in itself. Shit packed theaters and deserved it.

Male Kale seems like a good character. I can't wait to see more of him. I also realized that the explanation for why Broly is so powerful means that She-Broly is most likely the same. That also means Male Kale can overcome the "Going Great Apeshit" downside and make it a buff. I look forward to the Cheelai Broly love children.

I would have been happy with the occasional movie instead of Dragon Ball Super being a weekly TV series. That approach ended up leading to old troubles coming back (pacing issues, animation troubles, etc.)

Just thought about it. Since the Movie is following more closely to the manga adaptation rather than the anime, does that mean SSBE for vegeta is basically dead. Or can we get SSGreen so we can all have belly tier saiyans everywhere.

Im also opened to Broly becoming a reoccurring character just for the potential meeting kale. Also Chilai and broly love child.

People say Yamcha is the most useless Z Fighter but that's wrong, this is the most useless one by far, seriously he was useless even before the original series ended

Dragon Ball Super: Broly was the last piece of dragon ball media I will watch.
I guess I outgrew the series.

I actually enjoy Dragon Ball the older I get.

It's nice to have a constant, familiar 'bout of raw enjoyment in this dull, drab world of low expectations. Seeing characters like Goku and Piccolo still kicking and having dumb adventures warms a heart that's been getting colder for years now.

I've always been of the opinion that if you think the story or character development is more important that the moment-to-moment scenarios then you're watching the series wrong.
