My hope and cope is that it's just a timer before you can go even further bey-
>"- for a limited time."
It's dead jim.
It has never been this over.

Well for better or for worse these modern games are never set in stone so there's always hope for mechanical tweaks.
Yeah but it's also Bandai, notorious for not giving a fuck about feedback since inception. I know the devs are Dimps but have you seen the shit they added as time went on? This shit is set in titanium.
Yep. SSJ also gave you infinite ki and let you spam until the timer ran out, which meant the general meta was "spam ults" and it sucked shit.
Funny you should mention that, newest awoken skill does exactly that for a limited time for a tiny health drain per second. This is one example of what I meant by "shit they added."

I've been scrolling the Xenoverse reddit, and from what they say(grain of salt and all that) a lot of these changes seem to be very closely linked to what PvP fags complained about with XV2. Idk if I buy that, but I could see PvPers being really mad about people with Ki builds being able to spam blasts and ults or people with Melee builds having fuck huge stamina bars and being able to chain vanish and retreat, or the non-sayains being pissy they don't have 80 different super buffed awakening skills. But again, I don't buy that. Not entirely anyway.

I've also seen a fuck ton of cope about maybe timed transformations is some roleplay thing where you get more time, can stay transformed indefinitely, as you level up and use the forms. But I highly doubt that. If that was the case you'd think that would be mentioned just to curb the backlash the change was obviously going to get.

Absolutely brutal.

Slight correction: No, XV1 didn't have a flat timer, the transformation drained your ki and lasted as long as you maintained your ki gauge. in this state, your moves no longer costed ki. Overall, I vastly prefer that to a flat timer or permanently having the transformation on. I personally think XV2's way of handling it just makes the transformation lose any special feel and just becomes an arbitrary "Use free buff because why the fuck wouldn't you?". Same problem with the cooldowns, I think having a resource to manage that makes me consider how I'm going to use it is more interesting game design than both options chosen here.

I don't play Dragon Ball games to manage resources beyond making sure I've got enough Ki to blast and stamina to blast. This isn't a strategy series.
If they wanted to change it up, remove the buffs if you don't keep your ki above a certain level or make the buffs drop off after so long in the form or dependent on keeping up the pressure. As is, they're trying to frame it as an ender. Which doesn't even track with the series the game is based on.

None of the changes being made benefit PvE in the slightest. It's really looking like this is stuff being done to cater to PvP types because none of this shit was an issue in PvE.

Been playing some Xenoverse 2. I take it you KI blast to win because all i do is simple combo and spam kamahamaha.
I tried playing at a high level in XV2, it's cool for a while but honestly the shitty netcode and "currently in the cartel's basement" wifi just kills it for me. Stuck with mods and single player and I'm having a much better time. Gave Proud mode a try and I'm getting my ass beat sometimes, it's pretty fun but those health bars are autistic.

Was rewatching some fights some super, and I really enjoy the Goku vs Kale/Caulifla/Kefla bit of the ToP. Particularly before the girls fuse.

He's physically exhausted from the fighting but has plenty of energy to spare, so it's really just a recovery set for him, and he proceeds to fuck with them until he's gained enough wind back to really lay the pressure on. It's fun. We don't get many fights where Goku is so far above his opponents post Namek, and the ToP is nothing but people randomly as strong or stronger. So the girls being this little break in the chaos, until they go full retard and fuse, is refreshing.

Kefla I like mainly for the design and attitude. She's ripped and is like if Vegito didn't act like a faggot. She also eats one of the best kamehameha in the series for her troubles.

Not the biggest fan of the Saiyan girls, especially how they got their transformations. Kefla is pretty cool but calling Vegito a faggot is...what? I didn't like the fighting in Super as much as in Z but it was probably one of the better fights in the series. That sliding Kamehameha was the sickest shit I've seen in that show.
I do wish the other universes got a spinoff where you get to see stories in their universe, I'd watch that over Daima.

Catching up on all this shit in XV2 is a nightmare. I'm actually shocked at how much online exclusive "FOMO" stuff they've crammed into this game.
I'm also floored at the power creep the games had. I played around with Daima Vegeta and his ult was one shotting almost everyone I trained against with him. And that was without even comboing into it. So with the level cap being 199(!) now, with your stats getting a similar increase, shits wild.

This thing is also as live service as it gets now. Daily log ins, weekly and daily missions, half assed guild systems with this Festival of Universes thing and other timed, rotating events. Brutal. And so many moves, accessories, clothes, super souls and even characters that you cannot get anywhere else.
Vegito a faggot is...what?
I don't like that he's basically a clown in his limited appearances. I get that with Boo Vegito was trying to get himself absorbed so he could do his thing, but against Zamas the screwing around didn't make sense. It was just a GT Gogeta repeat where he fucks around too much and loses the advantage, almost ruining everything in the process. The fact they added a dumb time limit to the Potara just makes it worse to me.
Like I can get Gotenks being such a shithead, he's an 8 year old with the power to fart planet into dust. Vegito should know better than to screw around by the time he's dealing with an immortal Kai trying to erase timelines. But I've also always preferred Reborn, and now Super, Gogeta over Vegito anyway.
The Final Kamehameha is way fucking cooler than the Big Bang Kamehameha though, so he's got that goin. In fact, until Super Broly, Vegito had a much cooler moveset overall since Gogeta only had the BBK and Stardust Breaker.

I'd also have preferred a spin off, or more, with the other universes.
I liked that the saiyan girls fought a little scrappier than we've seen before, like when Kale held on to Goku so Caulifla could punch him in the gut a bunch. They should have gone further into them fighting like street punks.
Yeah they should have leaned more on it, but I do like that Caulifla acts much more like the Saiyans we're used to. It's a nice contrast with the others and it shows they're not really that far removed from our monkeys.

Akira Toriyama was given a special thanks in the credits of the latest Jackass movie, I guess someone in the Jackass crew must have really liked his work.

I played some more XV2 and is it me, or is the game very easy? Im already level 43 and i just finished the Frieza saga. The game just throws EXP at you but i guess that's thanks to all the extra content they added over the years.

Had a mission to save civilians from inprefect Cell and Trukes kept telling me to ignore Cell and focus on saving the civils but said "fuck that" and kicked his ass instead. Even Cell comment on how i was kicking his ass and could not believe what was happening.

Yeah, games just easy far as the story goes. The challenge comes in all the PQs, raids and expert missions.
Leveling slows to a fucking halt soon enough, don't worry. I'm ~104 and the best way to level up now is
>PQ 23
>Farm Dragon Balls from the TP reinforcements
>Wish for TP medals
>Level up at the Tosok NPC
>Repeat till 199

Alternatively
>Do "Return of The Great Ape Festival" PQ
>Bardock, Raditz, Nappa
>2 sets of TP's in the mission
>potential of 6 balls
>hope rng favors you
