In regards to the non binary they/them and trans stuff, I gotta say something I saw on Twitter: this is fantasy right? I’m pretty sure you could get away with this if you just added some language or mythology to establish how a species/race/world/culture has something that establishes how this LGBTQ setup is a thing. Instead all we get is the same exposition dump that only the most hardened of leftist and left wing culture warriors think is how humans interact.

It's literally the only tag I've added to my Steam account's "auto-hide and ignore games with these tags" feature. Automatic no buy if it has that tag. No exceptions.

I wonder if the game will keep track of that interesting statistic (and of course phone home with it without user consent or knowledge). It'd be funny if the devs come out six months from now with numbers they can lecture the racists with.
 
Top sellers on Steam is so bipolar. You see big releases in the top ones, but then there will also be indie shit or a anime VN that barely sold anything there too.
Wonder if its based on trend or something, so when you see explosive sales on a title it gets automatically picked.

Its because its only for that week. Its a very short term snapshot.

If nothing else comes out, and the release is somewhat noticeable, its going to place highly.

When I saw Epler say something to the effect of “Kieran was Dave’s idea” I think it dawned on me. The people in charge weren’t the people behind origins or even inquisition. (Well some of them were).

They aren’t remotely invested in the prior games emotionally or artistically. They weren’t involved in their creation or had minor roles compared to the people who did and have left or been laid off.

So when they tell you to “let origins go” what they are saying is “I don’t care about origins why do you?”

Obviously wokeness is involved but part of it is just the falsity that any corporation can change and be the same thing. The BioWare of the 2000s and early 2010s or the late 90s is not the BioWare of today. Too many planks in the ship of Theseus have been replaced.

The way they sell it to you is “BioWare” as if this corporation is an unchanging static entity, it’s not. It’s lost most of the people that gave its borderline magical reputation. They just bank on you(the customer) not knowing that.

It looks like they actually did half-assedly do that. Taash says something about the "Shadow Dragons" calling people they/thems and coming up with the term non-binary in Thedas. A better writer would have actually come up with a unique term and intricate history behind such a huge exception to biologically enforced norms though.

This completely feels like they took the live service or casual components they had working and spun it into a $70 standalone game since ea would pull all funding at the end of 2024 anyway Slap some lipstick on the pig and send it out to market to say you shipped something before the shutdown happens as a hail Mary.

EA was probably tired of funding this turd of a studio after anthem. Can't blame them, buying a single player company and trying to force them to make recurring game franchises doesn't work.

I bet they lkcensd it out to larian, owlcat or some other third party aa dev and collect the cash over trying to restart an aaa IP.

When you release in a week when there's literally zero releases and the chart is based off of revenue, your only competition is the rare random indie game that came out for $10 and will need to outsell your $70 garbage game 7-to-1 to beat it on that chart.

The kid actually turns up in Inquisition with Morrigan, they are on the run from Morrigan's mother Flemeth, who wants to rip the soul straight out of her grandson
 
The dialogue in this game reads like a heavily moderated discord server for “cozy” games. I was so excited for DAV that I replayed origins, daII, and DAI to set my canonical playthrough. Now it turns out basically none of it matters and the game is going to play like I’m being lectured by some fat drunk theybie with a septum ring at an undergrad bar. I lean way further left than the majority of this site but I can’t fucking stand that wokescold shit.

One of the reviews mentioned you can “harden” the characters by pissing them off, so they fight harder and play less support. If you can tell the neopronouns that she’s a fucking retard, thus empowering her independence, that would be amazing.
