It's so nice that we have these people to tell us what is racist and what is not. It turns out Dr. Seuss books are hate symbols, which mean I've been giving hate symbols to children for years! I'd best burn these hateful books right away.

So... Will Dr. Seuss become the new symbol of white power? Will Cat in the Hat hats become the new Rebel Flag?

First lady Melania Trump fired back Friday at a Massachusetts elementary school librarian who rejected her donation of Dr. Seuss books, claiming their illustrations are examples of “racist propaganda.”

“I wanted to send you a special gift. Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is a book my son and I have read over and over again, and one that we want to share with all of you,” the first lady wrote in her letter to students. “Please also remember that you are the future of America and that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.”

But despite the gesture, Liz Phipps Soeiro, a librarian at a public school in Cambridge, wrote a letter to the first lady, which was then published on The Horn Book blog, notifying Mrs. Trump that her school would “not be keeping the titles” for their collection, explaining that her school didn’t have a “NEED” for the books, due to her school and library’s “award-winning” status.

“I work in a district that has plenty of resources, which contributes directly to ‘excellence,’” Soeiro wrote. “My students have access to a school library with over nine thousand volumes and a librarian with a graduate degree in library science.”

Soeiro went on to slam the White House and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for not gifting the books to “underfunded and underprivileged communities,” which she suggested “continue to be marginalized” by DeVos’ policies.

But Soeiro seemed to be the most offended by the books themselves.

“Another fact that many people are unaware of is that Dr. Seuss’s illustrations are steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes,” Soeiro wrote, giving examples of "If I Ran a Zoo" and "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" as clear “racist mockery” in Seuss’ art.

Lmao, imagine getting a fucking graduate degree just do you can work for peanuts in an elementary school. You have to get a postgrad degree in library science, one of the least compensated majors, just so the highlight of your career can be saying "fuck Drumpf and fuck Seuss people."

Still though, saying Dr. Seuss is racist for things he did loooong ago is like saying Disney is racist (or rather, anti-Semitic). I personally wouldn’t fault them due to the nature of the time period, and the fact that they (at least, Seuss) grew out of it.

Oh, FFS. This is Professional Interaction 101, people. Accept the books and, if you don't want to keep them or you especially wish to make a statement about aiding minority-centric schools and libraries, suggest that to the First Lady as an initiative she could champion. In the meantime, quietly donate the excess books to one of the aforementioned schools or libraries. Talk to the press about how important it is to introduce people to imaginative reading early. Boom: you look like a goddamn saint and cleanse yourself of the stain of interacting with a vile Trumpist.

Instead, she reeees like a four-year-old denied a treat and looks like an eejit in the process. All those years in school for a master's degree, and she couldn't take one course on how to comport yourself?
 
Note this troon would have accepted the books if it was Michelle Obama handing them out. Oh yeah she handed out Doctor Suess books out so she be according to the Troon a racist.

Anyway, will democrats now be forced to side with her out of stubbornness? They'd be attacking a beloved American institution.
If the Republicans were smart about it, they'd rally with Dr. Seuss hats and carry the books around as a symbol of just how insane the left has become.

You guys don't understand what the end game is with these people and their anti Trump stunts. When overeducated underachievers like this lady look in the media what do they see? CNN "analysts" making six figures and people like Colbert raking in ten million dollars a year by doing nothing other than reeeeeeing about Orange Hitler. Frankly I doubt if half of these people even really hate Trump, rather they're hoping their media senpais recognize them and make them the next overpaid anti Trump media whore.
 
Actually, a lot of lefties (including myself) are attacking, at least from what I'm seeing. And I'll bet you any amount of money that if these had been a gift from Michelle Obama or Hilary Clinton, she would've accepted them graciously.

(Although she actually didn't have the authority to accept or reject the books in the first place -- apparently she got in trouble with her superiors for this whole thing!)
 
Trump's family is getting attacked and shit on more than I can remember any first lady or presidential children being messed with before. It's really despicable, because no matter how you feel about the man, his family (young children especially) are just along for the ride. Being so irrationally angry you can't even interact with their presidents wife to do something nice for a bunch of kids might make you look good to losers like antifa, but it's just going to push the middle further towards the right so they don't have to associate with such caustic insanity.

Yup, this woman has drunk deep of social justice Kool-Aid alright. I don't know if the big hoop earrings and clunky shoes are SJW-markers too, but they look bad anyway.
