I have to admit to developing a tiny mental crush on you, not only because you are only of the only longtime kiwifarmers who seems to be interested in this skitzocow but because OMG...I thought the same thing.
Do you think more people aren't interested in Karlyn because she is such a maniacal psycho? Is it because she's (allegedly) a white woman? Sometimes she's just so insane that I wonder if people are not put off by the idea that this one is actually a potential violent serial killer. Is she so crazy that she's boring?

I've been pondering this, which is why it's taken me days to get back to it.
One one hand, yeah, she's boring, but I thought she was even before she showed how mean and crazy she is. She was just a plain, dumpy, frumpy woman who was loud, coarse, and socially tone-deaf—the kind who tries hard to get attention, but can't read the room, and has no "indoor voice." Between that and the knitting—shit, you'd run into a hundred women exactly like her at any con. She's a type, and it's basically Nerdgirl Cringe.
The only things that make her interesting are her malignant Narcissism, and the way it fuels her longstanding grudges against specific individuals she used to be allied with. To truly understand how insane she is, you'd have to know the backstory, and who all the people she hates are, and very few people are going to invest that kind of effort in her. If she was hot, or a lot more visibly chaotic, maybe. But she's an unappealing spud of a woman who appears to lead a very ordinary, boring life, while being obviously bitter and carrying grudges. She's got a profoundly negative vibe, but not in an entertaining way, and it's just repulsive. So people who haven't been there since pretty much the beginning are going to have a hard time finding the motivation to get up to speed.
I was there at the start, and know who everybody is, and I admit I still find her boring most of the time, even though she's such an obvious malignant Narcissist, waving her Dark Triad flag high. She's a profoundly empty person, and is so ham-fisted and unimaginative in expressing her hatreds, provoking others, and slinging insults—it's all such low-tier, predictable, perfunctory shit, as if it's all done by reflex than through any process of thought or emotion, and somehow it manages to make even her glaring psycopathy seem dull.
She's just interesting enough for me to follow her thread here, but if it didn't exist? I'd probably never think about her, except on those rare occasions when someone I follow retweets from the
@KarlynBrainstem Twitter account.
As for why her craziness has escalated, keep in mind that she's a Narcissist who hasn't been getting the kinds of successes, attention, and validation she craves. She really thought she could ascend into some sort of public leadership role with #walkaway, but that ultimately failed, as did every other attempt she's made. In the process, she's made a lit of enemies and engaged in a lot of terrible, unhinged behavior, destroying her reputation in the process.
She can't just go back to being an organizational psychologist, because clients who google her are going to find out just how vicious and crazy she is. Her income has taken a hit, and she's struggling financially. A lot of things in her life are out of her control these days, and only getting more so—and Narcissists need to be in control. When they're not, they find targets to lash out at, and that's exactly what she's doing. And paranoia is the flipside of grandiosity, in which the deluded Narcissist is so important, they imagine others must want to destroy them.
If her finances improve and she discovers a new means for gaining attention and validation, she'll mellow out for a while, but the worse things get for her, the worse her frame of mind and grip on reality will get.
