In fairness he might have done that to try and get a foot in the door in terms of medicine. You have to put the work in early and prove that the desire to go into medicine wasn't some spur of the moment thing. I did my own time doing bullshit tier jobs before realising that going the straight Doctor would be soul crushing. I mean he's also definitely a weird fucker for doing that rather than the standard of volunteering in a hospital, or going on training courses.

As I repeatedly said, it doesn't take much smarts to be a doctor, merely the ability to regurgitate. Here Dr. Harrop regurgitates the "human societies have accepted non-binary genders for thousands of years" and the "living the authentic life" malarkey he was spoonfed.

The bearded lady in the picture, "Aydian Dowling", has likewise modeled her self-image based on what she believes to be the image of a white western man, seen through her own sociocultural lens as a white western woman, and accordingly modified her physical presentation. An "unreliable" indicator is not an "useless" indicator or a "wrong" indicator. If doctors have to make sure everything is 100% certain before they make decisions, they can't do their job at all. In a wider context, society cannot function if everyone has to have absolutely reliable indicator for everything. Based on various "unreliable indicators", we assume people we deal with are of sane mind and reasonable intelligence. Sure we are sometimes (all too often I think) mistaken, but we get by and society, by and large, get by.

And if the example of "Aydian Dowling" makes us question the "whole value system" of society, it is this: what aspects of our culture motivate a woman to want to look like a man?

How does he know the women who died identified as women? For all he knows, all of them might secretly identified as male or gender special, in which case, there would in fact have been zero deaths involving cis women.

Even if there are some factors other than sex that make men more susceptible to catching the Wu flu than women on average, the point that is being made by Janice Turner and which Harrop and his pals deliberately miss is that what you identify as has no bearing on whether you're more likely to catch the virus. He is trying to turn this into a question about the gender identity of the women who died despite the fact that them being "cis" is a completely useless variable. Corona-chan doesn't care about whether the XY chromosome bearers she targets are "cis" or identify as hot anime babes.
 
I wish I’d kept the link, but I saw a medical preprint that looked at the small number of little kids who have actually gotten hospitalized, and sometimes died. The same 60/40 split was present there as we generally see in adults, so sucking down more exogenous estrogen will do fuck all, unlike some mtfs have tried to argue.

Love how the “good” doctor tries to argue that unless zero female patients die, this doesn’t matter. Imagine your doctor knowing that a category you belong to is 50% more likely to experience mortality in a situation and trying to pretend otherwise because that makes your dick sad.

The more utter shit I read from this dickhead the more I'm inclined to agree, nearly every opinion he has is lifted from another woke bloke and any time he has to think for himself his opinions make about as much sense as a 5 year olds.

He dresses it all up with some long words that he barely understands the meaning of to give it some respectability but it's still bollocks.

That's interesting! The Guardian has decreed that the term is misogynistic, it's a bit daring of him to go against the woke newspaper of record.
 
Harrop, as usual, is not a leader but a follower in that regard. In a completely unprecedented turn of events an organisation which has wrapped itself in the woke flag is now being strangled to death with it by none other than the trans lobby.

Suzanne Moore wrote an article last month sticking up for the rights of women, but did not include penis-having women in that group. Of course this mobilised the extreme trans wing and more than 300 Guardian staff (including Owen Jones) signed a letter denouncing their own colleagues as murderous anti-trans bigots and made veiled threats about not being able to work in such an environment. Ironic that such enthusiastic censors would end up in journalism of all careers.

So for Harrop and others of his ilk, there is definitely blood in the water at the paper. Lots of the columnists and contributors are classic 3rd wave feminists who can spot a man to hate at 20 yards and don't care if he's wearing a dress or not. The younger staff (including many behind the scenes in IT etc.) are fully on board with self-identification and all the other fantastic modern ideas they read online. Don't expect their differences to be worked out peacefully.

Any self respecting newspaper should be telling would-be censors to fuck off. Even better, if their argument is so persuasive, write a rebuttal and let people decide what they think rather than organising backroom denunciations like they're in the Soviet Union.

Nah, bathroom scales are an unreliable indicator of body weight. If you weigh yourself in an elevator, your weight goes up when the elevator goes down (and vice versa). Hence weight is an arbitrary construct, and the bathroom scale was invented to oppress women, especially POC women. Body weight is more complex than your sixth-grade biology taught you, and my belief in my own weight is more valid than any man-made instrument can show. Belief in the bathroom scale is incompatible with human dignity.
