I thought it was OK. Slow paced, but informative. I think to eke out any enjoyment, you’d have to have been a fan of Bethesda’s games at one point or another, otherwise this one is going to fall flat. The average console gaming Skyrim enjoyer would probably be bored.

I haven’t thought about Arthmoor or the Skyrim modding scene in a very long time. The least surprising thing was learning that the dude is still at it to this day almost 15 years later. The autism in video game modding scenes is truly remarkable because, like jannies, they do it for free (or very little) but thrive on the power of being needed and essential within their communities.
 
It was fun, i would agree with Loony Troons that you have to be a fan of Skyirm or have a vauge idea of how retarded the scene is to enjoy it, but it was fun enough. It really took the piss out of Arthmoor at alot of points imo
I hope we get an episode on the Frontier by 2028, although New Vegas being comprised of trannies and genderspecials compared to the still autist and (hetero) coomer held Skyrims scene would make it hard for pussies to make fun of it
 
Fred's content is good, and Geno Samuel's is excellent, but does anyone else hate the forced, unnatural cadence and speech style they use? No professional documentary narrator sounds this awkward and overenunciated, so I'm not sure why these two think their styles sound good in longform content.
 
Great video. Arthmoor is fucking insufferable and his subjective changes to the unofficial Skyrim patch has led to a situation where a big percentage of Skyrim players are getting a fundamentally different experience and they don't even know it, just due to the momentum and path-of-least-resistance in that, of course you install USLEEP, it fixes so much, right?

You lose so much and miss out on so much. None of it sounds significant enough to care about individually, but the patch changes tens of thousands of things. Just a couple:

The change that the video doesn't go into detail on which was the discussion where Arthmoor got banned...it alters the spawn chance of various dragons because they assumed the devs had some kind of intent about a balance in elemental types you would encounter, but in practice it makes the same dragon model show up 5x more than any other dragon, so you get bored fighting the same thing over and over. Makes dragons less diverse for no reason.

Normally if you go around wearing nothing in the game, NPCs will comment on it and say "whoa, look at you" and such. There aren't very many NPCs in the game who are also naked (just in underwear), but they patched out the ability for these NPCs to comment on your own nudity. As if a naked person can't have an opinion on other naked people?

There are a few dialogue lines spoken during a quest which seemed to have an effect applied to them and sounded slightly odd, so they removed the lines entirely. So with the patch you lose flavor if not actual lore and story content due to an inconsequential audio issue.

There are a bunch of unique and interesting items which are removed because of the assumption that the devs never intended for players to be able to have them. They're not even necessarily buggy, they just draw on justification like "well this NPC technically shouldn't be able to be looted so you can't take their unique shoes."

Even the comments of this video are full of people just finding out for the first time that things they thought were just part of the game were unjustified changes made by the mod.

I was getting worried a few years ago; was the EVE video a millstone that he's finally shed? Regardless, I'm so happy he's getting back into form, Down The Rabbit Hole has the best balance of candidness and politeness out of any lolcow showcase series.
 
Pissing off Arthmoor is a fine way to get back into good graces.
Nothing better than putting little tyrants down a peg.

Geno Samuel using that speech style while reading Chris's insane diatribes will never not be funny to me.
 
It’s funny that all this somewhat niche drama is something a ton of unrelated people know about now, for once all this criticism is coming from someplace Arthmoor can’t get taken down after whining about it enough. Good fucking riddance.
 
I'm watching the video right now and everytime i saw "arthmor"'s profile picture i swear i had seen it before.

I checked my video catalog and yes i was right, i had seen him before.

It's the "introvert who learned speaking as a job" voice. I imagine he's naturally very soft spoken and quiet, so he has to intentionally work against it when making commentary and that's why it sounds forced. I prefer it to the overly energetic empath style of commentary any day.

Animagraphs is another good example.

It's difficult to watch these videos now knowing the narrator is a weirdo gay furry pervert. It just ruins the whole vibe. Separating the art from the artist doesn't come easily here.

I'm able to, the issue is that the subject matter just isn't that interesting for the most part. The dude made his career on people being lolcows like Digital Homicide, Chris Chan, or Wings of Redemption. This is a step in the right direction where he goes after a lunatic online but I'm still waiting for the Andrew Dobson or Ethan Ralph video.

Streaming is a fucking cancer. It made decent essayists stop making videos because streaming is easier. It made nobody-losers quit entertaining the few friends they had because they "have" to stream 6 hours a day to nobody, completely occupying their entire person. It made low-quality people who should otherwise be begging for interaction suddenly feel worthy of God himself's favor. Twitch and Onlyfans ruined generations.

You need to be a weird guy to be able to make a youtuber career for more than a few years (or extremely psychopathic). Furry pervert is a medium in the scale and could be far worse.
