How the hell did we miss out on this Purr Cat shit? That was prime kiwi thread material.

His videos are all depressing, exactly the kind of shit that I like.

What impresses me the most is that a bunch of the people he covers are not famous, not even "internet famous". He is the biggest lolcow hunter of all time.
His video on the Collyer Brothers is one of my favorites because of how obscure they are. They're barely anything beyond local legends in New York and there's little to no information about them, but he made a comprehensive video detailing who they are. I also liked his video on Henry Darger though he's probably not as obscure.

Part of me wants him to do more obscure historical lolcow stuff because that kind of thing is so fascinating.

Agreed.

Personally, I'd love to see a "Down The Rabbit Hole" about Rod Ferrell and the wider vampire cult phenomenon of the 90's. IIRC, there were a few very small "real life vampire" clubs in New York City and New Orleans in the 1970's and 1980's, but it was Vampire: The Masquerade that truly kicked off the fad and led to an entire subculture that overlapped with the early Otherkin communities in the late 90's and early 2000's.

The way I would do it is make it a two-part episode, the first part focusing on the rise of the vampire subculture itself (and some of their more prominent lolcows like Michelle Belanger and Father Sebastian) and the second part being about Rod Ferrell, preferably with more of a focus on his life in the years leading up to the Wendorf Murders in 1996 than the actual murders themselves.

I had no idea that was a thing and now I'm insanely curious.

I remember seeing a short bit about it on the news when it was still a thing. some dude dressed exactly how you expect a person like this in the late 90s/early 00s to was talking about how he "needed" blood, though he didnt believe in literal vampires himself. afterwards he explained a person can only drink so much of it because you get iron poisoning or something after a certain point, but the guy was still drinking it on the regular just below the point of getting sick. I dont remember how he was procuring the blood but he had whole bags of it in the fridge. they show him at a club at one point with other vampire people and they're basically larping vampire the masquerade clubs, drinking blood out of martini glasses and shit. I had almost forgotten about it. there's so many weird little subcultures lost to time.

The comments mentioned a (S1) Simpsons episode referencing this case, for anyone who's interested.
But that was an interesting story, I like when Fredrik makes videos about more obscure topics (as obscure as something that caused a lot of drama internationally can be, I guess). It's always a frightful reminder on how far some companies will go to meet demands and make a profit.

Very excited! I hope its on a prolific lolcow

In case anybody missed it, Frederik actually has quite a bit of content beyond Down the Rabbit Hole. The Warrens is a quasi-spinoff where he and his buddy Jabroni Mike take a more lighthearted look at weird shit that wouldn't fit the format of Down the Rabbit Hole:
If you didn't like those then you might as well stop here, because the rest of these are all just him and Jabroni Mike riffing on other types of weird shit.

How to Life on wikiHow is actually somewhat unique in that they don't just make fun of the pictures, they dig into the profound autism of the articles as well. I don't remember which episode it's in, but one of the articles they cover in the series is "How to Make a Lawn Gnome That Looks Like Your Partner." If that doesn't sell you then I don't know what will:

Jabroni Reads is a series where they read through legendary sperg tomes like The Eye of Argon (and make fun of them, naturally):

That Bootleg Show is a series where they look at ghetto-ass bootleg toys and other knockoff products. I'm linking Episode 3 because Frederik wasn't on the first two:

They've done several other one-offs and may even have some series I didn't cover, but you get the point. Serious documentary boy also does funny podcast/stream boy stuff where he makes fun of weird shit with his buddy. Give them a shot if you need more weird shit to laugh at.

Watching these Warrens videos reminds me of something else I like about Frederik. His Down the Rabbit Hole videos have an air of professionalism about them, which oftentimes contrasts with the bizarre subject matter (the Purr Cat Cafe being an excellent example). His narration is very dry, very serious, which makes his presentation feel authentic. Meanwhile he does these more casual videos and he's a lot more relaxed, open to making jokes, laughing and such. He feels really personable in those kinds of videos, which makes them just as fun to watch as his Rabbit Hole content. One of my favorite videos he did was a Q&A about Gamelife with Alex and Guru Larry and he's joining in on their riffing on Andrew Rosenblum. It's a neat contrast and I wish people paid more attention to his casual stuff.

Just a few interesting tidbits ice noticed recently, and backloging looking for another thread I discovered Fred had this one.

He was confronted in the 100th episode of Adeptus Podcastus, which had a ton of people from If the Emperor had a Text to Speech Decide (Fred voices a Dark Eldar on the show), by someone wishing he didn't use the Kiwi Farms as a source. His response was along the lines of "I know, but a lot of the time they are the only source of information" but his tone suggested to me it was more along the lines of saying to save face, not that he actually thinks the Farms are the den of evil a lot of people would make it out to be.

Further supporting that, in one of Ssethtzeenatch's recent dLive streams he mentioned that after featuring Fred's picture in the Wizardry 8 review, Fredrick contacted him online for advice on an old have he was playing and played it with Sseth. Now, Sseth has frequent racists jokes and I've never seen a channel get away with so many faggot slips, and while he seems to be under the radar (or hides behind his longnose status), he's definitely a shitlord.

Guess all I'm saying is that it seems like Frederick is a cool guy, who despite his very professional apolitical demeanor, doesn't have a problem with people being spicey on the internet.

I thought this was a DTRH about some femboy named Mistakes2. Not use to seeing people like Fred, IH, or even RebelTaxi's real faces.
