Doug TenNaple is a comic book writer who is most known for work such as Nickleodoen's Catscratch and videos games Earthworm Jim and Armikrog. Jim was currently reviewed by Kotaku, written by a transwoman named Heather Alexandra, a fan who was frustrated at the game being difficult and it's mean humor.

Doug, being the calm and collected person he is, kept calling Heather a man. In a very polite manner.

He has gotten into trouble in the past because of his beliefs. Doug is a conservative Christian. He doesn't believe in gay marriage. Instead of talking to the man about his ideas and religion (like he's told them to do many times before) they call him a homophobe.

His being extremely kind may eventually get under someone's skin. I wanna see how this ends. Word might spread. It just started a few hours ago. There are predections of angry articles in the future.

I don't know how can you make a conservative christian look good, the guy who made veggietales of all christian people, veggietales, where they gave the tomato guy a tomato girlfriend just so people would stop assume tomato guy wants to fuck pickle guy, the guy who says john k is a respectable human being, I don't know how they can make tenNapel look decent, but these people always find a way

I wonder whether these people who talk about how Earthworm Jim hasn't aged well are salty that, well, he is who he is.

I don't see how nobody could have heard about him and not think this was in character for him.
 
The salt TenNaple attracted because he misgendered someone makes one wonder if he was even deliberate in that. It wouldn't be surprising he'd go with it if simply because some people thinking any debates with him should be disregarded just because he called some Kotaku writer a "he".

Simple, you just need to have :autism:. Why bother trying to hold some debate with this guy when you could try and assume some high ground and throw transphobe without bothering to learn anything else about him aside from 140 character limit tweets.
 
Doug has always been like this. Anyone who is surprised he hasn't changed a whit since the nineties is an imbecile.

*after a half hour of laughing my ass off later*

Earthworm Jim is an example of doing "random access humor" RIGHT. Yeah, game series never made into 3-D well, but anyone who didn't find something to laugh at in the 2-D games is either lying or a soulless automaton.
 
Even when I didn't align with the guy when it comes to his viewpoints he always came across as civil, decent, and polite to everyone. But now he crossed the troon line which means he has a fatwa ordered against him by thousands of screeching ogres with neon hair.

These people's abilities to just attempt to drag people instead of forming reasonable argument and tackling their issues that way never ceases to amaze me.

Of course, these folks arent good at dragging people, forming reasonable arguments or tackling their issues, so I'm not sure what I'm expecting tbqh

He's pretty much used to it, even years ago Tennapel was getting people outraged at him simply for having a differing opinion. He's also been pretty open that he doesn't much care for the current state of the GOP. Never been into Veggietales but I like EWJ and the Neverhood/Amikrog titles so eh.

I imagine if respect was given first then he might be willing to entertain a pronoun request. If you come at someone with zero respect, why should they pay any of it back?

Also the article apparently is about how the humor in EWJ is "cruel humor" which I find weird because I don't really remember it being cruel, just goofy. These people probably can't even deal with a classic Tom and Jerry short.
