They are not even trying with the textures anymore. LMAO Literally a one color texture that anybody can make in any software in 20 seconds.
You can actually render floor and ceiling textures as unicolor in UDMF by changing their scale property to 0,0. *ZDoom will then turn them into their average color, so you don't have to create any new assets. This doesn't work with wall textures, though, even if UDB would display it that way in its 3D mode.

I was wondering about that one. It is extremely popular on Moddb, currently more than shit like Mental Omega and Horn of the Abyss which for a mod I never hear anyone talk about is fucking bizarre. Being above most of those mods is genuinely impressive though the same can be said about Project Raptor which was always a mod that just kinda existed.

Yeah, the mod is ugly, intentionally so, and it gets fully demented.

The game starts like Postal but edgier and then it switches to Silent Hill.
The game is pretty much someone having a nightmare after his relationship with his girlfriend ends badly and he's stuck in self-destructive, increasingly deranged visions. Some enemies are warped renditions of women ala Silent Hill 2 too, and the protagonist is seemingly one bad day from offing himself, seeing how some of the weapons involve self-harm, and how he shots himself outright if his HP reaches 0.
In the end, you kill the final boss and the protagonist makes peace with himself, or he's stuck with his nostalgic memories of better times.

The game is open to interpretation due to how vague it is. It's certainly a style over substance game, with stuff that's clearly from someone going through a RL trauma. It also suffers from bullet-spongy enemies but the patch seems to be working on that.

He's upset because that's the environment the fags of Troonworld have created in the last decade. They upload maps expecting nothing but praise and ass licking no matter what, so when a negative opinion shows up (in the sea of fake positive comments by people who didn't even play their maps) they are shocked and disturbed, like someone just killed their dog or something. And that's probably the first negative comment that cunt has ever received across all of his releases, and this is how he reacts? It's fucking pathetic and sad at the same time, because that's the fragile mentality in the general mapping scene these days. You just get a feeling that he has nothing else going in his life, and the little attention he gets for his maps is the only thing that gives him fulfillment. It sure looks like it.

He's also lying that it's a speedmap. It has 13k lines, you can't make a map like this in a few hours. This abomination took days to make. Anyone who's made a map of this size, knows how much time that shit takes. Sure it has fewer lines than his usual trash offering, but that still doesn't make it speed. The way i see it, he's just making excuses for this turd, because even he is, at least to degree, aware that it's ugly and uninspired.

Spot on, man. The most egregious thing is that even polite or neutrally worded comments get such reactions - they've pushed their Overton window too far.

I think he's lying to get more traction. As in: "Look how big of a map I mad in a short time!"; Although he wrote that it's "[A] Speed[map] for me [him], at least" - still, he's just trying to make himself look better. I never trusted those map build time estimations, in newer or older maps, because I know that even a short map can take you weeks because you've overlooked some bug\need to do troubleshooting or just figured some part of it didn't come out the way you wanted it to.
 
"Speedmapping" at this point is just coded language for a dropping of visual standards. Its an excuse to throw down lines as sloppily as possible to create a skeleton of a map. Even then you can still create something nice looking with limited time. You just need to care enough to put the effort in.
 
I found an older video i've commented on a year ago, when this dumbass released Formless Mother. It's a gameplay video by The Lamp, playing one of Treehouseminis projects, and he got so frustrated by the retarded design, he actually gave him some real feedback that he should've listened to, but of course, he didn't listen, and continued to make the same trash as you see here:

The Lamp is an idiot, but i've also noticed that he completely switches off, when he plays shit that he doesn't like. It begs the question, why he plays it in the first place, but that's not important in this case. You can see how bad he plays the fights after the archviles, which aren't hard at all due to the oversized room. He's just furious at this point, and i don't blame him.
Anyway, these caged archviles up there, are just a textbook example of moronic enemy placement, regardless of the little corner to hide behind.

I prefer those over even a single one that runs around freely, respawning all the monsters I've killed, because that's one of the most boring and annoying gameplay elements to me.

Instead of playing the map in a structured way, you are just chasing that stupid archie, and most of the time have no space to hide from its attacks, and easily lose track of where you wanted to go.
 
Archviles should be used as an immediate threat. They work well when the players are aware of their position, so they can prioritize in killing them. And yes, they are better off running free. The boring scenario you're talking about is when they get teleported in an area you've already cleared, without seeing or hearing them, so when you later get back to that area, everything is resurrected. That is a shit scenario, and i agree, that it's better to be avoided.

In Treehouseminis' map the placement is trash, because the archviles serve no purpose other than to waste your time. They don't add challenge to the fight with the HKs on the platform (the fight before you can reach the viles), because you have plenty of space to attack the HKs, outside their line of sight. Then the archviles only serve to delay you from pressing the button that triggers the next encounter, and there's no logical reason for this time waste. The archviles might as well not be there, they are useless and further destroy the pacing, which is already pretty bad in this map.
