Source ports are the way to go if you wanna run Doom properly. The original Dos version is atrocious. It's stuck at 320x280 and 4:3.
Running it in ZDoom lets you also use mods like this.

What did you say about Brutal Doom Compy? Are you implying that playing Doom on wad that is basically steriods and speeds is for losers?CompyRex said:

Dosbox isn't an actual port. It's an emulator.spaps said:
If you wanna play Doom as legit as possible there's a sourceport called "Chocolate Doom" which tries to emulate it's original dos counterpart.

It's mostly used to play ancient modifications that are incompatible with modern sourceports. It also remakes a lot of bugs that only existed in the Dos version that were even removed in later ports Id made of Doom. (Like if your mouse sensitivity is too high the options screen crashes).

Ah Doom , I remember when we first met. You were so young and sexy and I would spend all night with you . I had never met game like you , so full of life and energy.

It was the first time I played Doom( properly I think. I might of played it a long time ago except for all I know it could of been some other M-rated FPS Dos game though I'm sure it was Doom but my memory as a toddler is very fuzzy). It was Doom II on GBA and it became a favorite of mine. Skip a year or two later in 2005-2006, I find Doom Collector's edition at Gamestop. Then I lost the disc. Skip a few years later at a flea market and by the good grace of God, I find Doom Collectors edition.exball said:
