Summons, area denial, heals, and simply teleport away if in any danger.

Playing as an Archvile makes me so happy. They're as big a twat in MP as SP.

I know it's the whole point of them, but logging in to play these weekly challenges is fun, and a good excuse to break out cheats.

Id are blatantly manipulating me to extend engagement and I couldn't care less.
I dunno in what world "Hey here is a weekly challenge, do it if you think it is fun" is "Manipulating" when it is completely free. If you had to pay for the skinner box of grind sure but it is free replay value.

I'm currently making a PK3 mod that revolves around Chris Chan. I don't know why I am super interested in seeing Chris Chan's downfall. Decided to try to make a mod.

I would say cringe, but I too have an autistic as fuck obession with seeing massive conflict in the "peaceful and fair" lands of CWCville. Just make sure not to make it cringey as fuck, and make the mod actually fun to play.

By chance, how many maps do you plan to have? Or is this mod a gameplay exclusive one?

A shitty little texture/sound swap would be funny.

Adding a bunch of Chris quotes, replacing the guns with Christorical artifacts, and putting his face in the status bar would be neat.

Or look into trying with Heretic or Hexen. Magic bullshit might fit Sonichu crap better.

I beat the new levels for Doom 64. They were okay. It's nice that there's an official re-release of Doom 64 but I don't think it's a requirement to grab at $5. Steam sale game for sure especially if you never played it before.

Completed the game now, my overall feeling is that it is a good game, but not the masterpiece a lot of people are saying. On the plus side (minor spoilers):

- looks utterly gorgeous, ran perfectly on my One X
- great soundtrack
- combat is fast, smooth and frantic. Once you get the hang of it it becomes very enjoyable and when you die it feels like you fault (with a few caveats).
- campaign feels like the right length, not too short and not padded either.
- more smaller encounters means it feels less like moving from one arena to another, as Doom 2016 fell into.

But on the downside

- platform sections are often more aggravating than challenging.
- a bit too cartoony in some aspects, I get they want to make DoomSlayer a badass, but when you hear him talk it's comical, and the female scientist sounds like she's having an orgasm when talking about how great he is.
- Marauders. Fuck them and the demon horse they rode in on. Having an enemy where you have to keep a certain distance from and counter attack with a very slim window goes completely against the design of the combat. On their own it's ok, but when they put them with multiple other high tier enemies it's flat out unfair. I ended up turning the difficulty down every time one appeared, as I just couldn't be bothered going through a dozen deaths just to beat them.
- ending is a proper "oh, is that it?" moment.

7.5/10 for me.

And I had the game crash in one while doing a run of Mars Core last night.
That is rough, the Mars Core one is probably the straight out most unfair if only because Prowlers suck.

Marauders.
I don't know why people have such a hard time with these guys, the only two I had any real "trouble" with (I don't count the auto save that put me at 50 health as trouble because "Do it perfect or insta die" is almost everything not an Imp on Nightmere) were The Slayer gate one who had god damn Prowlers with it, and the one right after the Sword that spawns right in the middle of the middle of a fight.

PS : The worst enemy in the game isn't Archviles, Pain Elementals, Doom Slayers or Mauraders..the worst thing in the entire game are the FUCKING GOD DAMN PROWLERS. Why the fuck do imps with teleport require 3 chainsaw gas to kill?

My problem with them was the amount of times I tried chainsawing them because I thought they were imps. Of course I almost never had full chainsaw fuel, so I'd be locked into the chainsaw revving animation in the middle of a fight.

Oh that does not help the situation at all.

Also Cyber Mancubus are straight up bullshit on Nightmare, their close attack one shots you so you absolutely have to use ice grenades to gore punch their armor.

Conversely I never had any problems with the Prowlers. Although on the rare occasions I had a full chainsaw it seemed like half the time I'd end up accidentally targeting one of the fodder enemies instead.

By far the most dangerous thing about Prowlers is that they look like Imps, hands down. That fucking slow chainsaw swing is a death knell.

You know, this season thing synergizes surprisingly well with running Ultra-Nightmare. Every level you complete for the first time gives you event experience, after all.
