So are the demons like the combine from Half-life? They basically detect portals and interdimensional travel and home in on it, murder bones in hand?

guys. a little reminder. demons have weaknesses.
imps and soldiers are more vulnerable to bullet weapons.
shooting frag grenades and sticky bombs at a cacodemon can make it swallow the bomb and immediately get staggered, then go in for a glory kill.
you can use the ice bomb on prowlers to keep them from teleporting.
you can use the plasma rifle on soldiers with shields to make them explode and damage other nearby demons.
and most importantly, you can use some mods like the sticky bomb and the precision bolt to disarm bigger demons like mancubus, arachnotron, and revenant.
Why the fuck does it need a political message? Demons are on Earth. Go kill demons. What political message is there in DOOM Eternal? The only thing I can think of is the corporation telling people to give themselves for the sake of demons, which can be argued isn't even really as much about wokeness but rather ye-olde corporate-speak.

I mean, consider that the Gigantic Mega-corp demands you use Politically Correct language involving the demons, whose central invasion point is The Dead Center of the EU. It is a Coincidence sure, but sometimes you accidentally say things without even thinking about it first.IIRC after the original gameplay trailer dropped, the SJWs were getting all huffy about the demons getting called 'Mortally Challenged', acting like that was either some kind of obtuse metaphor for illegal aliens from Mexico or simply being offended for the sake of being offended.
Because really, who the fuck is getting offended here? THE DEMONS? The (now absolutely 100% evil) UAC even straight up calls the demons 'Mortally Challenged' and they're working WITH the fuckers!
Just got it on Second level on Nightnare as well. Its crazy hard died so many times no extra lives. Finding this stressfull to play. I'm tempted to lower to UV at least until I get other weapons and upgrades. This is Doom 2016 but on crack!Nightmare in Eternal does not fuck around. I’m in Cultist Base right now and that arena in a flaming elevator is fucked if you didn’t use the exploding ambient. I’m not looking forward to trying ultra- ightmare.
The hint system funnily enough doesn't alert you that the Marauder Hound dies instantly to the frost bomb, which has an AoE wide enough to catch it and lasts enough frames so that even if you miss, it might still walk into the blast radius. It's even guaranteed to drop health as a bonus.Marauder absolutely wrecked me as well, I can see the theory behind it, but trying to hit a boss in a narrow window when there's other enemies attacking you and a ghost dog biting your legs is quite another. Think I got through that more through luck than skill after half a dozen attempts.
Eternal's a bit repetitive in the early game when you don't have a large arsenal to work with and you're only fighting 3 or 4 enemy types. Can anyone explain to me this exceptional criticism thats been going around about Eternal that it is repetitive, its combat is than worse than Doom 2016, and its too restrictive.
I cannot see how that could even make sense to think these things simultaneously. If you think Eternal is restrictive and repetitive in terms of its gameplay than 2016's should be like watching paint dry with the amount of engagement to you. Not saying 2016 is a bad game, its great, but for me Eternal is just an improvement in every possible way.
I think its coming from people who kind of aren't good at the game and don't understand how to efficiently master the game, so they just gotta find some excuse to why it isn't engaging them.
Sorry to sperg about vidya but I've just been seeing to often to not bring it up.

Wait it reveals itself? I always ran for it first and destroyed it before I dealt with the enemies.I have noticed it's not always the best at explaining things. Like with the first buff totem where it tells you enemies will keep spawning until it's destroyed. So I died several times running around trying to find it, only to discover you have to kill the enemies before it reveals itself.

Yeah, the first one's in the Super Gore Nest with those lava pits. I've never had to kill anything to make it appear though. I always stumbled on it while trying to make a run for it (I usually found it next to the extra life in the area).First one I found (think it was in the Super Gore Nest) only came out after the first wave, the others I've seen have already been there.
