TL;DR: His mum has dementia, died from a stroke, when he called the paramedics, one of them claimed that he killed her, he then got sent to jail for 10 months, but eventually he was let go because an autopsy proved that he didn't do anything to his mother.

The people who lied and said he killed his mom should have to personally pay millions to this poor man.

This is as rage inducing as it is heartbreaking.
 
Daily reminder that the government is not your friend and doctors are fucking quacks. How the everloving fuck do you confuse a brain bleed due to a stroke with a fractured skull, even though there were no signs of it to begin with. I am legit mad about this. I hope this nigger sues the tits off of the police force, the county's DA and the doctor that got him fucking falsely imprisoned for ten months and made him lose everything.
 
Here's the confirmation of what happened that was posted in the thread. I independently confirmed it, so yep, it's legit. Fuck LA County.

The other danger is elders with dementia making untrue claims about abuse or even physically attacking their caregivers if their mind goes before their body does. With dementia the body often undergoes a withering from lack of appetite and ability to process food that can look like neglect.
EDIT: With something like Lewy Body dementia the mind doesn't go all at once. Somebody can appear lucid sometimes, but also not recognize their own close kin and respond accordingly to waking up having a stranger looming over them in the bed.

This is honestly the first of possibly many unheard stories of false imprisonment being used to silence, if not threaten, people for trying to take care of their relatives. I do hope he gets justice, though I’m surprised it took them 10 months to get him released.

There's a big difference between an autist relying on tardbucks to avoid having to get a job, and someone who had their entire life uprooted for several months over a lie.
 
Guy isn't doing much better, by his own accounts he's living on the streets and sleeping on park benches. All his family is apparently in Florida too, and were told by the LAPD that he viciously murdered his mom, so he doesn't have anyone he can turn to.

They really took what little he had left in life and don't care at all that they did. I suspect a fair few other homeless people in L.A have very similar stories, or inmates in California prisons.
