It doesn't end, you are going to pay incrementally more for less for the rest of your life and your wages will not keep up with inflation unless you consistently climb to better paying positions or grow your business endlessly. Our economy is based on endless growth and is unsustainable at its core, but we are in an era of diminishing returns unlike the industrial revolution and space age so this is just something you have to live with. The bankers and politicians are gaming the system with deliberately inflationary policy because it benefits them so it will not stop.
