Did you know that there’s a switch on ceiling fans that reverses the fan from anticlockwise to clockwise. When running the fan at a low speed, this is supposed to circulate the air and make the cold parts of the room (i.e. the bottom) warmer.

Does this actually work though? Or is it a marketing gimmick to get people to install fans in winter?

The fan distributes the air temperature more evenly throughout the room.
