It entirely depends on the state of your hearing, and age, if you've abused your ears with loud sounds for years, then no.
As you age, you'll also naturally lose frequency range.

CDs are a pretty OK recording medium, since you're basically listening to lossless WAVs, and there are vast differences between proper monitor speakers and gaming grade small ones. These days even integrated audio is good enough, but an amp or some proper external audio interface should improve things somewhat. I tend to pick things intended for music making/recording instead of HiFi stuff. Like from Focusrite.
On shitty speakers or headphones it just won't matter.
A better discussion for dunking on spergy audiophiles is about cables and lossless vs lossy. Most people are unable to tell the difference between FLAC and MP3 at V0 and above even on a good setup.
