In the name of Allah the Most Merciful and the Most Beneficial. May peace be upon the Holy Prophet peace be upon him.

As the holy month of Ramadan comes near people become more considerate about the guidelines for oral care during this divine time. Fasting means to refrain from food and water from dawn till sunset. There are detailed guidelines for fasting let’s delve into the intricacies of oral care during Ramadan.

A common question that usually arises during Ramadan is whether brushing is allowed during this month or not.

Does Toothpaste Break Fast?​

Yes, brushing your teeth can break your fast.​

According to scholars using toothpaste for brushing teeth is generally allowed during fasting, as long as toothpaste is not swallowed. However, the use of a Miswak, a traditional teeth-cleaning twig, is highly recommended and holds significant value in Islamic tradition, especially before prayers and upon waking in the morning.

god's all-knowingness, all everything-ness, morally universal-ness is western philosophy trying to come to terms with the actually very person-like, jewish-like, morally particularising and jealous god, that's where the mismatch happens

I too do One Meal a Day, except as a superior white person that's just a day ending in Y for me, pretty sure brushing your teeth doesn't count against that, since you're not supposed to swallow toothpaste. But, you know, maybe that's how the Muslim do it.
 
It just goes to show how incredibly legalistic and dumb Islam really is. I bet Muhammad had no problems breaking his fast when he was shitfaced or raping underage girls.

it's muslims and jews who have religious mandates for mutilating their children, christians tend to leave them intact (except for amerimutts who have been conned by the corn flakes man)

We tried that with GWOT, but were constrained from fully civilizing them, because goatfucking, child harems, and redeeming your honor by murdering whoever looked at you crosseyed is "their culture".
 
Toothpaste does have a bit of sweeteners and flavorings in it unless you use something like arm&hammer toothpaste that's basically just emulsified baking soda. The amount is very little but it's not zero.
