Does anyone still go to Black Friday?

We haven't had an actual Black Friday since 2019. Now that stores did the whole covid weekly black friday deal thing, the whole month of november (and somehow october as well) has become a massive free-for-all of retardation. Stores requiring subscriptions for the luxury of giving them more of your money (without the bulk discounts like BJs wholesale, Sams club, and Costco).

As always, it is better to just sit and watch deals year-round than buy on black friday. Often times there are better deals during innocuous times of the year.

I use these websites to keep track of deals:
dealsea.com (aggregate by users)
dealighted.com (automatically aggregated by bots)
slickdeals.com (deal forum of useful redditors competing for upvotes)
brickseek.com (price tracker of various stores)
camelcamelcamel (amazon price tracker)
woot.com (still autistic and unfunny but might as well exploit for deals)

Use ublock origin and privacy badger browser extensions to block trackers.

Learn to buy in bulk, buy according to unit price. Learn what product you really need and things you simply want. Do not shop on an empty stomach.

only boomers
black friday is used by companies to push "deals" that aren't even that good but that boomers think are good due to the day

I think it'd be fun to go to a real populated area to see the shitshow. As for actually going in for the sales? Fuck no. Would not go anywhere near that.

They have tried bringing it to the UK and it's been just as shit as you'd imagine prices upped for a week before and then lowerd on black Friday to the old price.
Also an "imported" event on my neck of the woods, and it's surprisingly not a flop yet a mixed bag. You get lots of fraudulent sales, but many physical stores have actual good deals around this time, it's great in the supermarkets and way more of a wild card in other stores. I still remember the time I was looking for a game console to buy, waited for the day and got colossally fucked by the "sale", they doubled the fucking price!

Like others have said, the stores are swarmed with boomers then. Most other people I talk to in my age group just do Cyber Monday. I’m in that camp as well, like hell I’m going to a store infested with Romero zombies ready to kill you for a $20 blender or whatever.
