I've never understood the aesthetic appeal of Wojaks.

Looking back at Rage Comics, I still think it was visually lighthearted and had more comically exaggerated expressions, even if the comics themselves didn't pass the test of time. Wojaks doesn't have that comical appeal to it. They are visually dull and lack actual variety for the most part.

Do you think Wojaks are visually funny or am I the only one who thinks otherwise?

I kinda think of them the same way I do rage comics. They were funny when they first came out, then it devolved and became overused and everyone thought they were a comedic genius by using them. Then it became mainstream and we saw 11 year olds wearing troll face "u mad bro" shirts after it stopped being funny. I'm waiting for edgy middle schoolers to wear wojack shirts at this point.

Wokaks by themselves aren't visually appealing or comical but they have something most other templates don't have: versatility. These things are as versatile in expression and aesthetic taste as any sonic oc but without the inherent autism present in them.
This isn't to say a rage comic isn't funny or comical but they don't have the sheer barbie doll like customizability inherent in a wojak meme.

Hop on the Soyjak thread on KF to see just how deranged that shit can get. Also for forum drama, which gets kinda over the top in how dedicated and rabid the community is

no its just a way to show your opinions are bad because the strawman whos saying them is a nerd

Sometimes, usually during a Dovah doc showing a foreign barbarian or imperial traitor caricature getting their shit pushed in and crying. I just find the crying face funny.

Sometimes. I see them as the millennial/zoomer equivalent of political cartoons and other social commentary, which have existed in some form or another since mankind has been able to draw. Ancient Romans for example did this in the form of graffiti.
