Do you still own any CRT televisions?

Yep. Got one from a coworker who was gonna throw it out. It's even got the built-in DVD + VCR combo so I can watch all those old tapes and disks I've got lying around.

I don't have one anymore but I used to have this one

I miss it why did I ever get rid of it? (:_(

CRT TVs just take up way too much room. If you want to toss one they usually charge a fee too. You wind up needing to clandestinely get rid of them, break the vacuum tube then break them apart and toss them into a dumpster somewhere.

I'm astonished that there are still people who want them. That's what you get when you're dealing with nostalgia niggers though I guess.

Yes, though I’d rather not. They’re a huge pain to both move and get rid of, so the one I have remains hidden away. I’ve been saying I’d toss it for 15 years now, so you know, it’ll happen someday.

I find it really funny when some zoomers pay hundreds for them and claim they’re so much better than LCDs. They’re shit that we all abandoned the moment something else came a long for a reason lol.

I still have one that works, although picture can be slightly distorted. It's one of those small TV-VCR combo things. I keep it on standby as a backup and have it covered up to avoid dust. Although sometimes - once in a great while - I may use it for the novelty and nostalgia of it. What's odd is that CRTs were really common and dirt cheap at thrift stores relatively recently...

I have about 6 that still work. I am kind of stuck with them. Tried donating one to the homeless shelter with no success.
Hold on to them they are appreciating in value. I sold a crt computer monitor to a retro computer gaming nerd for $150 not too far back.

Scrap yards will take them. They have a considerable amount of copper in them. They give you tin or shred price for them and then tear it apart for the copper.

I have one left. I don't even know if you youngins remember these, but it is a 32" console type. It is built like a piece of furniture. They had great sound. The speakers were big for tvs of the time and way bigger than anything you will find in a tv today. I have my NES hooked up to it.

Super Smash Bros Melee players worship CRT in order to wave-dash or whatever (competitive smash community irritates me to no end). However, that community is dying down so maybe CRTs won’t appreciate as fast now?

There is a 30" CRT in my parent's basement. It took me 3 guys from the rugby team to move down a half flight stairs and it still almost ended poorly. That thing is staying with the house if they ever move. My sister uses it to play old console games every Christmas.

The problem with scrapping CRTs is that they contain lead inside the front glass so it's actually a bit dangerous to scrap them. Similar to microwaves and smoke detectors having radioactive material. Scrapping is a rough gig but I have no sympathy when they are literal bottom feeding niggers.

12 or so years ago, my family had left our big living room CRT in the back of the house. Some asshole scrappers snuck onto our property and ripped the copper from the tv (but left the rest of the unit).

I have five, one still works. I don't have a tv or anything tv-adjacent newer than a CRT, not even a large computer monitor. My biggest screen is a 17" laptop.

Yup, a pretty old one from maybe late 80's (I took from an abandoned house where a pedo had fled the state) and one of the last ones from the 2000's as well as a giant-ass big screen from the 90's I inherited from my parents that is still the living room TV. Because of the fact I used to be a big retro game collector before I got priced out I didn't bother getting my first flat screen until maybe 5 years back, and it was an old early 2010s one my brother was replacing.

An old roommate of mine still has one because he still plays his SNES and thinks it’s less hassle for multiplaying than using an emulator. When I replayed Chrono Trigger c.2014 I used it for a while.

We have one of those flat 20"(?) Sony ones, it has the input with the RGB cables thingy and we still use it regulary as a TV with a signal converter. It has a nice image quality still.

I want an old CRT monitor to use on my PC for a project that I have delayed for a long time, but the ones I find are no name brands, or have a hefty price tag for what is clearly a crap unit.
