Fasting on Good Friday sucks. But that's the point; it makes Easter so much happier and more pleasant. Can't have the Resurrection without the Cross.

It's the least I can do, since I completely half-assed Lent this year.

Yes, as a kid Easter was one of my favorite holidays. No school on Thursday and Friday, fall season, chocolate eggs, having lunch at my grandparents' house on Sunday.
Every day I wish I could go back to those times.

Definitely. Eating gimmicky and or, novelty, but great chocolate, and shagging lasses dressed up like Playboy Bunnies. Don't care for the commercial side of it, though. Buying shit for relatives (any old occasion, really) gets gradually more exhausting every year.

Oh, yeah, and lamb joints, too. Fuck, I love lamb, even though I have background guilt over eating a baby sheep. Lamb burgers are the bollocks, too.

I didn’t mind as a kid. It’s not my favorite though because I had on one half of my family the Christian larper side that we had to see at a fancy restaurant to look good for their Christian group. For anyone who’s religious and wonders why people don’t like religion, being stared down because you don’t think of the religion their way is a pretty good turn off for people. I can already imagine my grandparents disgruntled and in disappointment because I spoke badly about this.

I work on Easter morning and have to sleep through the afternoon to stay on my graveyard shift schedule but I've always liked the holiday as a secular tradition because it seems the least consumerist of the big ones and involved the most family fun time and least stress over gift buying.
