Solution
When my cat finds one he meows at it until I inspect it. If it's one that could hurt him I kill it and throw it away. If it's a harmless one I give him permission to eat it by saying "kill" then he plays with it for a bit then eats it.
nah I usually let them be and they find their way out on their own
the only bugs that go bye-bye are roaches or their ilk (or ants if there's more than like 20 of them in one spot)

I either leave them to their business or take them outside, they eat other more annoying bugs so i like them. I only kill them unintentionally by reflexively swatting them when they crawl on me (sorry spider frens)

Nope, never. They kill and eat bugs that I don't want in my house. I welcome opossums, black snakes, and bats to my yard too. Beneficial animals are cool.

Spiders get to meet Mr Squish!
(Closest object I can find that withstands being smashed into my desk)

Sometimes I get a cup and trap the little bastards, throw them outside or in the toilet and flush them away. Sometimes vacuum.

Usually I'm too scared to go within like 10ft of them.

No. I only move them outside if they're really big or in a bad place. Any spider I can see from my bed, with my glasses off, is too big. Spiders in the bathtub are moved pre-shower due to their own poor decisions.

The Critter Catcher was a good investment. I hung it up near the broom and mop, it works well, and it's less hassle than picking a glass and finding a piece of paper.

Only as a last resort, if they are dangerous and refuse to cooperate when I attempt to move them outside. TBH I can't tell you the last time I killed a spider, and even then I reckon I've killed fewer than 10 in my entire life.
