The lack of conventional social skills seems to come more from a deeply flawed view on maintaining and projecting masculinity than ASD
If I had to hazard a guess I'd say he experienced abuse in his preteens/teens from a trusted male figure that was so traumatic it stunted aspects of emotional development and made him feel emasculated to the point he has this constant need to reclaim it in the only way a hurt and scared teenage boy would, through constant bragging and violent outbursts of emotion
What I think is ironic is that to most men, bragging, being overly emotional and unable to contain it, and constantly seeking to be seen as tough/strong, is bitch-made behavior
