No? Even the people strung out on them for years on-end (SSRIs are generally prescribed as temporary measure, you aren't supposed to languish on them or embrace them as a permanent solution), I'd argue it's more a case of their political views and long-term SSRI usage are motivated by a deeper fundamental mental problem.

SSRIs affect decision making and opinion choices in general. People on them shouldn't be allowed to drive, let alone vote or hold office.

Certain SSRIs can absolutely make you numb. I was on zoloft for almost a year and couldn't feel anxiety basically at all, even about things that I should have been freaked the fuck out about. It's a terrible system... you're supposed to feel bad about things you should change in your life, and if you don't feel bad, you probably won't change them.

part of the war on drugs is the desire to have as much of a monopoly on altered perceptions as possible, to be able to control its application from a top down operational level
