Unless they have enough shame and restraint to actively seek help to stop being fucked in the head altogether, no, they don't. There is nothing "virtuous" about kid-diddling.

We live on a planet of 7.9 Billion, why do we need people who want to molest and rape children on our already over-populated world? Cull the herd and it solves two problems.

Some pedos are actually productive and create things used by the whole world.
For example, Patrick Naughton created Java, a very useful programming language.... and then he got arrested for trying to fuck a 13 year old girl.
This is the thing about really smart creative people - they're weirdos.
A lot of IT specialists who are creating the next generation of software, are troons who jerk off to dogs (and maybe do more than just jerk off).
There are probably pedo scientists who created revolutionary inventions, cures etc.
Especially in the pre-WWII days, dudes married 13 year olds all the time, would we call them pedos if the world they lived in had different rules?
This 18+ shit isn't even 100 years old.

In short... I don't know.
