At a basic level there is no difference between a kiwi and a chicken. It seems logical that new zealanders would have domesticated them for meat supply.

I guess they didn't though, because domesticated animals don't end up endangered.

Tried running a Kiwi farm. The fucking feds shut it down because raising Kiwis as livestock is somehow slavery and eating Kiwis is, apparentally, cannibalism.
