ALEX Scott becomes emotional on Who Do You Think You Are? when she learns her great grandfather owned 26 slaves.

The BBC pundit, 37, is horrified to find her 4x great grandfather Robert Francis Coombs was a slave owner with over two dozen people captive at his huge property in Jamaica.

The Football Focus host is shown records of those enslaved to Robert between 1817 and 1832 in an upcoming episode of the BBC documentary show.

A stunned Alex cannot believe what she is seeing, and asks: "In my family line - this doesn’t sound right coming out of my mouth - but Robert Francis Coombs owned people?"

The historian explains Coombs received preferential treatment for being light-skinned, and it wasn't unusual for free black people to own slaves at the time.

Fighting tears, Alex replies: "In terms of explaining my emotion behind it, I suppose that goes against everything that I stand for, who I am."

In a preview clip, she adds: "I was very aware we may be delving into the topic of slavery, but I really did believe I’d be learning about my family as slaves, not the other side, as the slave owners."

The ex-footballer also discovers Robert had a relationship with one of the slaves and fathered two children with one of the women he owned, Eleanor Frances Henry.

The Left Preaches, but Doesn’t Practice, Diversity​

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are rallying cries of Democrats and the left, spawning an entire industry dedicated to achieving these goals, regardless of necessity, practicality, fairness, or cost.
Diversity simply implies differences, an innate feature of humans as no two people look, act, or think the same. Here is a definition from one such organization whose goal is that we all march to the diversity, equity, and inclusion drumbeat.
Diversity is the presence of differences that may include race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, socioeconomic status, language, (dis)ability, age, religious commitment, or political perspective.

Notice that most characteristics cannot be discriminated against by law, not hiring or firing someone over their race or religion, for example. At the bottom of the list is a surprising focus on diversity, namely political perspective.

This means that companies and institutions that proudly practice diversity and virtue signal over their wokeness, should themselves be leading the charge of making sure that their organizations seek diversity in not only gender and sexual orientation, but also political perspective.
How are the woke companies and institutions doing? Are they walking the diversity walk or simply talking the talk?
The College Fix answered this question, “Zero Republican professors found across 33 departments at seven universities.” What are these universities? “The Ohio State University, University of Nebraska-Omaha, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, University of Georgia, Cornell University, University of Oklahoma and the University of Alaska-Anchorage.”
These are all large elite institutions, a mix of public and private, and even a school from the uber-woke Ivy League.

For a minute, I thought the article was going to be about the white flight or gated communities the left do to avoid diversity. I think we all knew that universities exclude republicans, but it's nice of the article to show it and name the universities that do it. I don't think this has been talked about much, but someone has talked about diversity for sports. They would list the articles that hail basketball as being a diverse sport and baseball as needing more diversity. They then broke down the demographics and show that baseball had more Asian and Latino representation, but had a higher proportion of whites. Basketball was the inverse of this by having very little Asian or Latino representation, but very low proportion of whites. So diversity in this instance meant, little to no whites.

Do you want the real answer or the answer that the masses are to understand from it?

The masses understand "our" to mean "everyone" in a kumbaya sort of way.

The real answer is that it's the source of strength for the divide and conquerors, not unlike colonialism in africa or america where intergroup conflict was utilised to extend control.

It's why Amazon tracks and maintains diversity in their warehouses to minimize resistance.

Since we're all piling on this necro'd thread, I would point out that in the simmering bowels of my memory Linka identified as Soviet, not Russian.
 
The only reason they say that is because maybe on a team, you'd want diverse viewpoints to navigate your communications and marketing in a culturally sensitive manner or some such which would not be required in a homogenous society.

I mean, we are to understand that all men are created equal or some claptrap, which means we all have the same learning capability so how else would diversity be a strength? Even King Nigger said Sotomayer would bring a "Latina female viewpoint" to the court (which is supposed to be as non-partisan as you can get).

It's to "fix" the "problem" that diversity created in the first place.
 
Diversity is a strength, when used properly. Like how a gun can be a shameless weapon of terror, or a tool of survival in a harsh environment.
Diversity when used improperly is a huge setback that achieves nothing but slapping more shackles on people.

Speaking from experience: A diverse team that can equally share their talent, thoughts and skills is more effective than a diverse team that's afraid of speaking their minds because the Neurotypical Poly-Queer Trans Multiracial Dyslexic Quantum Lesbian is ready to report you to HR for not being inclusive to their pronouns when you pitched a new female character for the product.

And for the OP, diversity is a strength for amazon. They track it in their warehouses as a metric against unionization. You can extrapolate that to larger culture.
 
I remember being told by a jewish teacher at the school i went to that diversity just means less white people.
She was an antiwhite blm fanatic too. So she was being one of the more honest ones about the agenda she pushed.
 
In every group of people, there are members who just can't hack it under the old order, so they push to import foreigners/foreign values as a way to shake things up so they can be on top. Example: the fat white dependapotamus who knows she'll never attract the handsome members of her own race, but knows she'll be able to land a black man with reasonably good looks because black men see her and her white skin as higher status. So she pushes for diversity in her area to get access to an outgroup that will see her as valuable.

Those who push for diversity are almost always seeking to profit by it. There are a few true believers who think that helping outgroups will give them God's favor, but most people who want diversity think it will improve their own station in life somehow, or at least hurt the people they perceive of as dangerous or evil.
 
The forced diversity by big companies always seemed like gayop shit to me. Amazon is massively into pushing diversity and tranny shit in their warehouses because they know that a diverse workforce is less likely to attempt to Unionize. When you put together a group of people with completely different values and backgrounds without even TRYING to get the immigrant workers to assimilate into American culture, nobody is going to be on the same page.
