There is no sane reason to add stuff to Disney Plus considering the massive amount of IP Disney is sitting on, and I doubt Mulan has proved people are willing to pay dozens of dollars to watch a film at home to make back the massive investment. Going with "streaming is the future" is also insane, Corona will be gone by the time anything new will finish production.

And it's not like all of the studios that have been bought haven't already been gutted to the point that they can't survive if they were spun off to be independent.

I think they will shut down studios but I do see them selling off certain specific licenses and brands, mostly relating to their TV division.

If Disney's going to sell off anything to a competitor at all, it's going to be A&E and History Channel. The only items of real value there would probably be the History Channel's tape library of older programs from the 1990's and 2000's when it was actually about history and maybe the IP rights to Pawn Stars and a reboot of Modern Marvels.

They're not going to sell Marvel or Fox at all, and if they're desperate enough to sell Star Wars, then chances are the rest of the country is in such economic dire straits that we'll have a lot more important things to worry about.

How much arm-twisting did they do to Chris Sanders before they ripped his baby from him and forced him to remain as Stitch's voice for all time and eternity no matter what horrors they inflict on the franchise?

I heard some years ago that Chris had a difficult time with Disney so he went to DreamWorks. I believe it had something to do not only with L&S but I believe that Bolt movie that Miley Cyrus was in?

Yeah, Lasseter and Sanders were butting heads over American Dog really hard. Lasseter wanted Sanders to fix up some things/cut the fat in some areas because the story wasn't making sense/kept grinding to a halt (it was just "too mature" a story for Disney in general, but there's accounts backing up the plot problems) and Sanders said "No", so he was dismissed from the project and he went to DreamWorks right afterwards where he then saved How to Train Your Dragon. Bolt was then reworked to the movie we know it as.

Reportedly, Sanders is hard to work with as a perfectionist, so it's a miracle we even got movies like L&S, HTTYD, and The Croods from him at all. But it's worth noting Lasseter hated L&S because of how weird the movie was despite it making Disney big bucks at the end of the day and is a fan-favorite, so the two just never got along to begin with.

How interesting that Lassiter instead turned out to be a creeper. I hope Hayao Miyazaki is no longer friends with him.

I once heard that Lasseter stated that American Dog was "too quirky for it's own good", and knowing that was the exact reason why he hated Lilo & Stitch, it might have been Lasseter changing the movie into what he felt was better, regardless if it was needed or not. Bolt was mediocre and has been pretty forgettable (in a decade that didn't have a lot of standout hits), so there's a good chance that American Dog was more of what people wanted. Especially since Lilo & Stitch was one of the biggest movies they had that decade.

Lasseter is no saint but I remain highly skeptical of the accusations leveled against him, it's pretty clear to me that his firing was politically motivated.

Almost certainly the exact reason why he hated Lilo & Stitch. But the movies he had less involvement in came out pretty good, like Wreck-It Ralph. Shame he couldn't resist getting his hands all over the sequel though.
