So according to what the professor who retranslated the book is implying, it's a part of nature to persecute against the Jew.

Also the live action is gonna be literally twice as long as the original.

How the fuck is standing on that tail like that? I don't mean it just because looks ridiculous but because without sturdy standin position you cannot turn the wheel. You have put out more power than what is keeping that wheel and that will require whole body, especially in rough seas.

Disney had some casting news, announcing the actresses for both Lilo and her older sister Nani for the Lilo & Stitch live-action remake.

Twitter is predictably BIG MAD. Especially Black Twitter for some reason?

Parallels are drawn between the "colorblind" casting of Ariel and how it's all about "cAstInG tHe BeSt PeRsoN" until it isn't.

To the girls credit, she was born on Hawaii and is supposedly half White, half Filipino/Hawaiian. Auli'i Cravalho, the girl who played Moana, has a similar racial makeup and nobody bat an eye when she was cast as a full Polynesian princess.
Also, the actress does look more ~ethnic~ in other photos.

Very confused by Disney's casting process, it's like they're asking themselves "What will piss the most people off?"
All I get out of this situation is that social media and actual fans of the original Lilo & Stitch are small and few in between. These “fans“ care more about so-called representation than actually question why remakes need to happen to these projects in the first place.

I question if we’ll ever get a remake of ”Inside Out” and they will have to do a real life-action movie out of that.

I don't get that. What I get is that most of the original fanbase for Lilo and Stitch are so done with "current year" Disney and live action remakes in general that they simply don't bother to comment on the incoming live action shitshow because its simply so tiring to go through the same cycle with Disney that pure apathy has set in.

Not a single direct quote from the original author saying "yeah i totally meant for Bambi to be an allegory about the persecution of jews" but that didn't stop wikipedia from using this shit article as a citation!

Ursula might be one of the few times when casting an actual tranny would've been better since her design was based off a drag queen.

Also, completely unsurprising that they decided to have Ariel be the one to take down Ursula. Except I figured they'd at least be creative enough to come up with an alternate death scene for Ursula not just switch out Eric for Ariel. Guess I gave them too much credit.

You take that back motherfucker. Muppets From Space is heavily underrated, and I will not hear otherwise.
From Space is a fine movie, it’s just not as good as its predecessors. It’s the first genuinely divisive one, as seen here.

It could be argued that Christmas Carol was so good that Treasure Island started the downhill trend, yet I’d still call Treasure Island a solid seven or eight, and From Space a six or seven. It’s not bad, it just gets closer than the other Muppet films of its time to not being good.

YAAASSSS, GIRLBOSSS SLAY!
btw, how the fuck are they going to explain how black Ariel is suppose to stear the ship, if she has never been near one or know how to do it?
Will she fucking know what the stearing wheel is doing at all?

Her yellow half-dreaded hair looks nasty and trashy in every medium lmao.
Not even ghetto black women wear their hair like that...

She looks way more like a seawitch, the loose wavy hair + the random dreads make it look like its straight hair that dreaded on it's own due to being severy unkempt and filthy, and cuteified Ursula looks more like a friendly chubby fish queen, hmmm

If they were smart in their fluffing out the duration, they could've dedicated a scene to Eric showing her the workings of a ship since Ariel has interest in learning about humans and their contraptions.

But I sincerely doubt they ever did that. Even then, no fucking way she could have the strength and balance to steer a ship, not even with nigger strength.

Oh of course your solution is to have someone mansplain it to her! The actual answer is she had previously found a nautical manual in her collection of precious things, and learned from that how to pilot a vessel. This will be shown in a subsequent Disney+ prequel series that explores her sassy teen years.

They are actually pulling an M. Night Shyamalan thinking its easier to teach someone who can luau to act rather than doing the far smarter and easier thing of taking someone who can act and teaching them to luau.

We all know its going to be a fucking train wreck like every other Disney live action adaptation of their animated classics. But this is getting to M. Night levels of bad adaptation and that is truly a fucking feat.
Tinkerbell got raceswapped with Yara Shahidi and I did a little digging and turns out that both Yara and Halle were on a show together and I wanted to see the acting chops we have to look forward to.
Neither of them can act their way out of a paper back. It's all so awkward and wooden and they are both playing mute characters who have to be expressive. Halle can sing and that's all fine and dandy but Ariel is mute for 60-70% of the film. They should have gotten an actress (who looks like Ariel) who can sort of sing and improve that.

I'm wondering if with all their changes they are gonna treat it more like Broadway where Ariel is not treated so much as mute since she has entire songs where you hear her thoughts.
