Not a massive fan of dishwashers, take days to fill then don't do a good job because everything's dried on. Dishdrawers are pretty great. Take up less space, use less to run, easier to load.

Anything I don't want to manually wash wont be cleaned well enough by one, and everything it can do well I can easily clean myself in less than 10 seconds. I guess if you're some wrinkly old bitch with arthritis it has its place.

This video is honestly one of the most useful things I've watched in a long time. Anyone ITT who thinks their dish washer doesn't clean well enough should absolutely watch it.
TL;DW: there's a very good reason that little second soap compartment exists on every dish washer.

I grew up without a dishwasher or a microwave, so I am distrustful of both. How dirty of dishes can it really clean? I end up essentially washing the dishes completely before putting them in because I don't trust it to clean them off fully.

This is pretty much what you need to do, even with industrial dishwashers. The average person does an insufficient job cleaning and maintaining the machine itself, let alone sufficiently preparing dishes while loading the damn thing. The single restaurant I’ve worked in with a dishwasher was so disgusting as a direct consequence of said machine that I have since refused to patronize, not only that particular chain of restaurants, but the entire style (fondue) itself.

Aw man I always wanted to go to a fondue restaurant...

It's insane what people are comfortable washing in their dishwashers. Pet items are a common one. I know people who wash their birdfeeders in the dishwasher. These things wouldn't have even been allowed to be washed in the kitchen sink at my house. A bathroom/laundry room sink is generous. The hose outside, more likely. I refuse to believe it, but I've heard some people clean their toilet brush in the dishwasher. I hope that's just an urban legend.

What a bunch of retardation, dishwasher are always cleaner then by hand, if you are not living alone and not having one your are pretty much just torturing yourself for no reason
