There's 475 digimon in the game, which apparently neglects over 1000 digimon.
Friend of mine almost bought the game, but found out shoemon(?) isn't in it so he didn't.
You can check the list to see if your favorite is in here: https://www.grindosaur.com/en/games/digimon-story-time-stranger/digimon

I'm mostly having fun now that I've gotten past the tutorial and into the title drop, it was actually starting to get really boring between the end of the demo and that though.

The game becomes far more interesting after the title drop. Opens up a bit more and gives you reasons to revisit zones. I just got to a tree world and while the linear gameplay is "predictable" its a far better experience than most creature collection games of the last couple years.

I just finished the tree world, haven't really hit any sort of roadblocks for gameplay but the multi-arm boss was just kind of annoying.

Don't know why they decided ride digimon have to be in your active party, if they're in reserve you just get told you don't have any, and there's so few of them you might not even want to use any of them. Also everyone needs to make sure to do all the side quests, the only reliable way to get a lot of agent points, I'm somewhat close to rank 6 but you need 7 to make mega digimon.
I was told that the fusion digimon will give you back both of them if you de-digivole them, but I haven't made any yet, have one ready though if I can ever get to rank 7

I fuzed stingmon/Veemon but did not choose cool gun guy...picked the monster type guy. I also merged for Silphymon because the Cyclops bird person design has always been cool to me.

I was worried if I defused then I had to pick one.

You'll definitely want to do side quests and grind some after Gear Forrest, the boss after that is brutal. It's the first boss battle I've lost to in the game. My biggest surprise so far is they've managed to get me to like Aegiomon, I expected him to be some annoying mascot character but he's a well written character. Hell I even like Inori, this really just highlights your silent protag as the weakest link in the story.

Getting past that boss though I was not expecting a Digimon ghetto.

all the characters are either passable or good, its not Grand Novelle depth characters or w/e but they are likable sort.
I think its the lack of sperging out, Minervamon in the beginning falls into the real world and like "sure I'll do w/e, lets work together" instead of making big demands or something gay.

In case anyone doesn't know yet;

If you have MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon in your active party (or their nigger versions from the preorder), they can temporarily digivolve to Omnimon in battle to use Transcendant Sword/Supreme Cannon. This consumes both their turns for the round and they then revert back.

I haven't tried this with Imperialdramon but it wouldn't surprise me if they can too.

I like this better than permanently evolving them honestly. It's neat. Digimon's whole hopping around between evolutions thing was always a part of the franchise I enjoyed better than Pokemon's permanent evos.

Is he Dual Voiced like in the movie?

Omnimon Zwart isn't, and I honestly can't remember if normal Omnimon was when I used him; I no longer have the non-black versions of those digimon as I turned normal WarGreymon/MetalGarurumon into something else.

You can do this with every fusion digimon, they'll have garbled text on their skill page but it becomes visible when you have both pair in your active party during a fight.

I think this was a really cool choice on the devs part. I always liked how hype it would be in the anime when they'd digivolve mid-battle, and it adds some extra flair to the gameplay.

Oh shit thats cool! I didnt i could do that. Would be cool if they do that with Omnimon X where they temporarily fuse and do "All Delete"

Beat the game...got all the "Anomaly Points". Story ends in a relatively satisfying way and some end game side content gives a bit of back story to the final boss cutscenes which is cool.

They lock the final digimon behind beating the game but I enjoy games that let you have those "power fantasy" moments even if it only happens in post game/new game plus. overall..7 maybe 8/10. Game does have some pinch points but the overall creature collecting in a linear story scratches a certain itch.

I'm hoping more games come out from the Digimon IP. Maybe one that takes on the concept of the "partner digimon" mattering alot as opposed to the "get every digimon possible" vibe they always take on.

I got softlocked, in my first visit to a certain lategame area (will avoid describing it because AFAIK I’m the only one who got this bug so far)

It’s frustrating as hell because I was *just* getting the Megas I had been building for all game. Still, the fact that my reaction is “damn, I want to keep playing” is a complement to the game, at least.

I think we’re finally at the point where saying “it’s the best digimon game yet” is finally actually a definitive complement. It’s a solid 7/10 if the softlocks get fixed - more room for improvement but genuinely consisting of good content.

They released a little short video about the Incident of "3 years ago" with Inori's brother, Yuu.
Involves the fan favorite Justimon almost losing to an Ultimate in Machindramon, and clarifies what exactly happened back then, and why Yuu and Aeigomon look similar, or at least I took it that way that some of Yuu rubbed off on the Egg.

It was a fun short video! Made me want to use Deputymon on my next Mega+ playthrough.

Pokemon ZA being hot garbage has propelled the interest in Time Stranger.

Nothing crazy but Steam charted 84k release peak 16 days ago with 17k currently playing 2 weeks after release.

That's amazing for a Digimon game. Cybersleuth peaked at 3k, Survive (visual novel basically) @ 6k. The rest aren't even worth mentioning.
