With a playable demo, this game doesn't pull any punches for a creature collection game. Its' base is the Cyber Sleuth game but it has increased its polish ten fold. Voice acting on a much more interesting world ending story.

You are warped to the past after a short prologue and given a task of essentially stopping an apocalypse. There is definite inspiration from Persona 5 overworld although the Japan city maps feel bigger. I can't say it's ground breaking but it's a well put together game with a solid RPG Cyber soundtrack.

Edit: The game is entirely voice acted except main character silence. It's a really solid story experience so far but I'm only like 5 hours in

Can you turn the voice acting off? I liked Cyber Sleuth and the presses of a Voices volume slider is deciding whether or not I purchase this.

You can turn Voice Actors Japanese and turn down cutscene volume to 0 along with Voice Volume.

This games cutscenes are like actual scenes and not that "one 2Dish character on a side talking to another cardboard cut out" type.

On hard you really better watch your ass on boss battles, game rewards you for the core concept, which is min-maxing your roster of killing machines.
Story is good so far.
Digimon look good and tons of em but early game it's hard to steer them to get the digivolutions you want out of the buggers

Wormmon just doesn't want to become Stingmon and I'll keep devolving his ass till he plays ball

They really want you to use the agent perk tree to hit stats. Also abuse the loading feature. Way more powerful then in cyber slueth.

I was tempted to pick this up, but considering it's 90$ (what the actual fuck) and I've got other shit needing my money this month, I may just wait for a sale.
Where do you live that it's 90? 70 in USD, but it's on sale on a couple websites like greenmangaming for 59 and change.

unless you reeeeeeally like digimon, their games are always a "pick up on sale"

that said i feel this is the best digimon game we gotten since Dawn/Dusk imo.

There's 475 digimon in the game, which apparently neglects over 1000 digimon.
Friend of mine almost bought the game, but found out shoemon(?) isn't in it so he didn't.
You can check the list to see if your favorite is in here: https://www.grindosaur.com/en/games/digimon-story-time-stranger/digimon

I'm mostly having fun now that I've gotten past the tutorial and into the title drop, it was actually starting to get really boring between the end of the demo and that though.
