Did the Congo Free State flag's design suck?

I feel like it is too similar to the flag of European Union and Vietnam. Don't get me wrong, it works, but it's too generic and probably wouldn't make a great pfp, especially considering if I were to put an anime jpg on it, it would cover the star in the middle.

What are your thoughts?
