Bind demon at 10 doesn't grant you an additional demon, so 20 and 30 probably don't either. Big sad. But I have Hephasto with Might and he actually kills shit in 2 hits.

I am a retard as we have already established, how are you getting auras on your binds? I've seen a few references to finding and binding them with the correct auras. Or is it just kitting them out with a merc?

At 20 skill investment the bound summon gains the aura enchanted prefix. 15, 10 and 5 are spectral hit, extra strong and extra fast, respectively. Hephasto is just a good target because he's tanky, hits hard and is guaranteed to have an aura.
So, the Warlock is geared for the most part, only missing the new fire jewels and improved sunder charm. With the default Obsession + Insight setup, fire immune enemies were still taking absolute ages to kill (on p. Shit like basic hell clan mooks in Arcane Sanctuary were tanking Apocalypse like it was nothing, and it's worth noting that the Apocalypse was at level 41-45 with 17-20k damage listed per cast (alongside costing a whopping 75 mana). I haven't done the math, but running your own Insight + Infinity on the merc seems just better despite losing the +4 all skills mod.
There's also the issue of all your summons, including merc, becoming stuck after you teleport. Not just while using enigma, but even after coming out of a TP, which is annoying as hell. It doesn't matter as much for tainted/defilers but the merc and Hephasto become completely useless.
It also baffles me that they are clearly capable of improving summon AI, but just chose to not implement it for mercs. Demons teleport to you after you move half a screen's width and are insanely aggressive, while the merc will stay anyway between 2-3 screens worth of length running face first into a rock and when he finally DOES port to you, it takes him like 3 seconds to finally aggro. They really need to make some armor runeword with Prayer in it so I can finally run a rogue archer or a barbarian.
I feel like an old man. I finally bought Diablo 2 Res after learning they added a new class. D2 was my first game to play on the PC. I was playing it in 2001 before I was even a teenager. Patch 1.09 in all its splendor. I remember getting crushed when 1.10 dropped and my characters had half of the gear disappear since this was the patch that took two years to come out and it got rid of all the bugged items.
But yeah I'm having a blast playing again. I haven't played since like 2005, and hadn't played resurrection so it's new entirely for me. Warlock is fun but so busted. Im just amazed Blizzard actually added it. Gives me hope they'll keep updating it if this class dlc sells well.
I was just thinking, would it even be possible to run a private game for a few of us to play together? Although given the division of servers and battlenet id's. Probably not a good idea.

It's doable, but anonymity goes to hell. Your battletag is displayed on basically every interaction in text chat - joining, leaving, partying up etc. Outside of ping and timezone issues, there's also level issues. I'm guessing nobody wants to essentially freeze the character until everyone else is ready to play.
New league dropped, new class, and yet even that can't bring me to play this game again. I like remasters on paper but man, is the gameplay itself archaic. There's a line between nostalgia and comforts of modern gaming and D2 is just too far past that line at this point.

Then you'd probably enjoy Warlock. He borders on D3/D4 gameplay with easily the highest APM to play optimally. I legit ran out of handy assignable buttons because of his mechanics.
I also realized today that he has a teleport. Gimped compared to sorc's teleport, but still a teleport, kind of a cross between that and barb's leap. He also has built-in resistance lowering mechanics via Consume. There is a lot the tooltips don't tell you right off the bat.
Does anyone play on PS4/console and can tell me if it's worth playing on that? My computer is too old to run Resurrected and playing the classic 1.14 version isn't cutting it for me any more with such small inventory space and not being able to make newer runewords. Obviously I know it's going to be harder using a pad to target things or going through the inventory, but I mostly play melee characters so I don't think it'll bother me too much with auto aim. It's 40 bucks right now on ps4 for the standard version, and they have the warlock advertising it so I'm guessing/hoping he's included and I don't have to pay the $25 extra or whatever the dlc was. Unless someone tells me it's complete ass I'll probably pick it up soon, especially if warlock is included.

Through Blizzard, no, but through Project Diablo 2, very easily.
The devs announced work on Season 13 has started, probably will release in May, I will be posting in this thread about it as is announced.
No Warlock, but you have other fun new stuff to play with like Summoner 'Zon, Mind Blast 'Sin, and Curse Necro all being high tier builds. Plus whatever new stuff they cook up (I'm hoping making throwing potions viable).
I beat the Diablo one. While it is slow at first, i kinda liked that because it keep you on your toes. I quickly learned early on that rushing into a room full of enemies and being attacked from all sides, was suicide. had to hid in the comer or door ways so i could take them on one by one. I played warrior so my options of attack were limited which became a problem by end game. Those god damn succubus and mages sniping me from across the room was a pain in the neck. Had to go back to town and restock in potions and teleport scrolls over a dozen times i think.
Oh well, now i can start playing diablo 2 again. Warlock seems fun if not overpowered.
And here's the carbot. More or less how the class feels.
Though I have to give more credit to the abyssal side of the Chaos tree. Miasma chain & Abyss are fucking amazing despite really shitty raw damage numbers. I don't know why they shred shit the way they do, but NM ancients literally died in 5 seconds. Another bonus is being significantly less mana hungry than the Apocalypse side, which even lv17 meditation couldn't keep up with. Meanwhile, I rolled 13 on my first Insight, and at 600 mana (lucky Frostburn drop, spirit and like 150 mana on all my jewelry) I am constantly topped out. The CC and no casting delay provided by the Abyss is just icing on the cake which also helps my relatively squishy merc (bound hephasto/councilmen don't care about anything, see below).
It might be a little hard to see, but that's Hephasto beating down & tanking Diablo, like 5 or 6 red lightning hoses later, while my merc would die to one.
With the DLC I picked up Resurrected and have been trying out classes I've never tried. Took a Bone Spear Necro through hell but found the whole thing uninspiring; I assumed as a necromancer I'd be summoning hoards of undead to do my bidding but that seemed pretty shitty when I tired building for that. The guides I find online all recommend leveling with a bone spear build and then building a summon build with higher end gear, but the ladder started before I really made it to the point where I could farm and I moved on.
Now am on an Amazon and having on-demand AOE with Exploding Arrow feels so much nicer than having to rely on Corpse Explosion. Managing ammunition is an interesting twist and I think bows are the first time I've ever had to deal with a two handed weapon. Heading into Nightmare and need to figure out how I'll get my resists up without leaning on a shield. I'm looking forward to gearing up to be outrageously strong, which I didn't really feel I was going to get with the Necromancer.
Earlygame is brutally boring though. Getting to the end of Act 1 and thinking "ah, fuck, I need to drag myself through acts 2 and 3" and waiting for my good skills to unlock is a serious impediment to wanting to test out the rest of the classes I've ignored. I let a group carry my Amazon through Normal only to realize I'd ended up killing act 5 enemies who don't give me experience because MY level is too low. Diablo 3's "skip the bullshit and start the good part" button was underrated. I'll probably try to juggle a Warlock too this season, he seems overtuned and steamrolling might be relaxing while I learn the Amazon.
