The drop rates in Terror Zones are imbalanced to reward the player.
I might just have absolutely shit luck then. Two weeks of flayer jungle runs netted me only a single Pul. Granted, that WAS close to 4 years ago... And it seems lower Kurast still isn't on the list. They don't like easy runes.

edit: oh yeah, Warlock's audio. He's basically a 2012-2015 era fedora weeb atheist edgelord. Off the top of my head:
>The evil of this place.......................departs with me
>Heh..............simple prison, for simple minds...................
>Pah.................the undead make poor servants...........................
>DAMMIT! (yeah, he says that). Prime evils can't escape me forever!!!!!!!
>That's what you get for choosing half measures when dealing with demons......................
Probably the weakest aspect of the class. His pain/grunt sounds aren't the best, either.

I enjoy arpg and my first one for better or worse was D3 which i played into the 4 digits. Always been interested in D2 but i didnt want to have to have to download the whole blizzard app to get the game, now thats on steam im more willing. Hows the endgame in D2?

It's mostly farming act areas and bosses with some cow level sprinkled in and like poster above mentioned uber fights for your unique charms. It's simple but should be refreshing if you are coming from convoluted mess of PoE.

If you're looking for more path of exile end game type of play style I recommend Project Diablo 2 mod. It has mapping system, more uber fights, loot filters/better stash(for free) and even end game gambling in form of slamming aka using orb of corruption(PoE vaal orb basically) to get random result. Gambling is pretty fun when you get repeat drops. Might get God tier item or trash it completely.

Finished p8 nightmare. Just before going into the last quest I thought I'd have to take a breather to grind for a Vex since everything on Hell is fire immune, but lo and behold:

That's Colenzo the annihilator that spawned with a Conviction aura. He's now mine, and bound demons persist between game sessions, so now I have insane mana regen from Insight ony my merc and a free Infinity. This monster type also means he stays away from packs and doesn't get mobbed. Not that I think he could, mind you, the Council member I bound previously was absurdly tanky, shrugging off Diablo's lightning hose like it was nothing.

I don't think flickering flame breaks immunities so yea that free infinity is great.

Warlock is crazy OP, ridiculous but fun

Except the pike breaks in two spins and you spend most of your time in town repairing it. Bonesnap was the superior option even with its limited range.
edit: had to cave in and drop the difficulty to 1 since in A1 everything is immune to fire, which means relying on the goat and merc to pick them off one by one, and while conviction does break the immunity of some mobs, it still leaves them at anywhere between 80 and 95% res, giving them between 8 and 16k EHP that I have to plink away at with 300-500 damage casts. Anything that isn't immune explodes in two pentagrams and one wave. Really wish sunder charms weren't locked behind hell terror zones.

So Warlocks can hijack enemies which is my favorite thing to do in games? I really don't want to give them any more money but I guess it's an option now.

Also, waiting for Carbot to upload a video about this. Any day now

Seer is the true best Diablo 2 youtube video poster.

and other games where he puts arbitrary and insane restrictions on himself like playing Final Fantasy 4 without using items, spells, or buying anything.

The chance for new Seer content is an unexpected upside to the recent D2 DLC.

He'll do anything to get away from the FFV run.

Yeah, and you can have up to 3 (possibly 4-5 if you get the skill to 30/40). Unfortunately it only works on demons and you can't bind act bosses, though everything else is fair game. Hephasto, council members, Lister - all can be subjugated.

People often forget how much D3 experimented and more importantly removed. Real money AH? Added, introduced an entirely new concept, removed. Promos and tie-ins with popular tv series and shit. The Diablo 1 event that changed the graphics of the entire game. Seasons? Did other games do this prior to Diablo 3? I still love how it gives you a full set to get back into the grind of a new season real quick. Seasons since then, PoE and D4, fucking suck. Way too vague, way too convoluted, no real rewards.

The fact alone D2 is on steam is enough reason to buy it, on sale if need be. Only Classic WoW is keeping battlenet installed on my PC, which is why GW1/GW2 got a leg up. Feel like playing? Install on steam, play, uninstall.
That's because most people "serious" about farming simply would use sorc/hammerdin bots. First legit chronicle completion will go to an 8 man party of gooks playing 24/7.
400 hours across all seasons doesn't seem like much for spergs who play ARPGs, honestly.

I meant the classic version, pre 1.12. Blizsorc and Hammerdin bots were hosting nearly every Baalrun (hammerdins ended up being more popular simply because hammerdins were more broken) and even among my friends botting was just something normal, my bud who introduced me to bnet would just leave his bot up when going to school and turn it off after coming back home. I didn't have my own PC at the time so the best I could do was hell Countess with my barb and NM andy/meph with my sorc with the aid of maphack, which Blizzard finally started banning people for sometime around 2008. I still remember getting a Pul off the countess and trying my best to secure IK armor for it (which was going for Um minimum and Ist maximum), and eventually a kind soul just gave it to me for free. It was incomprehensible to me that you could part with such riches for nothing, but I had no idea just how much people nolifed this game back then. Gearing was hard when you didn't have unlimited time to grind and/or access to the right tools. At least I got fully soaked in the game's visuals and audio, which is why I can appreciate the remaster for what it is. Nowadays I just go for 1-2 characters - one boss killer and one aoe nuker and once they're reliably geared I simply give away excess stuff I don't need. Last D4 season I almost made a dude cry after giving him 3x Vex and 3x Ohm in for nothing. Similarly in D2, when there's a game "need item X", I just join, drop the item, press the "it's for you" audio cue and leave.

I geared my amazon just through junk drops the bots and other kind souls left behind. I nearly got to 99 on those bot runs. That was peak diablo 2 for me. I always wanted to learn but to stupid for that stuff XD
