Yeah, I was a little disappointed that the conversation you had with Prava at the end of the first expansion went nowhere. I expected Mephisto to do something with the weakened and divided Cathedral.
Why would he? the Zakarum Faith is directly opposed to The Church of Light, which was created by Inarius a long time ago (a LONG time ago), the Religion around Akarat is all about inner light and shit, not relying on godly Angels, it doesn't worship any Gods at all, beyond revering Akarat's teachings (and getting horrifically corrupted by Mephisto)

Akarat showing up would lead to direct bloodshed and he'd have to drop his facade if he interacted with The Church of Light.

They recently lost their object of worship, and "Akarat" would be a prophet who mysteriously returned after dying centuries ago - a good replacement. They were willing to accept Urivar as their spiritual leader. Say what you want about Mephisto, he sure is more charismatic than Urivar.

funny enough the Zakarum Faith instantly knew Akarat was Sussy Baka, and basically sent someone to follow him around and try and kill him if he is infact, a demon in disguise, ya gotta give it to them, they got fooled once, and they did not want to get fooled again, sure the last time it was basically just their Pope who got Demon'd, but they took no chances.

and again, the Church of Light's core tenant is that humans are shitty and need to try and be like Angels, Akarat's teachings are very much the direct inverse, they are heretical to each other
