Yeah. The issue with monarchism that prevents me from taking it too seriously in recent times all centers around a single phrase.

"The Divine Right of Kings." This was a European phrase that said that kings held the right to rule for religious reasons. And while limited to 16th-18th century in usage, there were similar sayings across the ages and world. Nowadays it is meaningless to consider, but it served a practical purpose beyond religious reasons. To cut to the point, it was the answer to the VERY obvious question of "Why do you rule me?"

That question, and how it's answered, is a fundamental core of any government. And any system that CAN'T answer it or has no good answer is doomed to fail. Guaranteed. And these days... Monarchism just can't answer that question. What King/Queen do you want and why should THEY hold the crown? I've yet to see a Monarchist answer the first question, let alone the second.

Everything else about Monarchism is a grift and irrelevant. It doesn't matter what policies or the benefits to Monarchy, it doesn't resolve the issue that you are asking me the get on a ship with no captain and won't get a captain until it's already out at sea.

I maintain that due to most everyone knowing everyone's dirty laundry and what-not, it's a sorta Mutually Assured Destruction situation; where if Aydin or Scrump or whoever release their info on Dev, he releases whatever he claims he has on them and pulls them down with him. Or vice versa.
Rather than that, better to just fade into irrelevance quietly.

Spoon had a good point about a filthy leaf debating other foreigners on American policy but lost me when he confused free speech with intrusive thoughts.

I'm for a monarchy because we actually cut the heads off those fuckers when they went too far. Spoon is for a monarchy because he's a retard, we are not the same. (I don't actually advocate for it, just the more things change the more they stay the same.)

He is right though, "debate me bro" Why? What does it benefit him or anyone to take up a challenge with a rouge's gallery of screaming retards who will not act in good faith, and are only using him debating as a form of legitimacy?
 

Gentlemen, update from Archcast on Dev. Nothing major but at 1:57:00 We have Arch responding to Ace 1918 that he will not do a stream with Ace due to Dev. Apparently he considers himself Neutral when it comes to all of Dev's disputes. Someone super chatted about this. Apparently he also syas that whatever dev does or says, does not change his stance on neutrality.
 
The way the Arch/Dev/Sargon fuck-triangle comes across is Arch really fucking hoping that, like Sargon, Dev winds in his fucking neck.
I actually admire that he's standing by his friend and hoping Dev will see sense when things get bad enough, but I know given this neutrality and also his business sense that he'll cut Dev off neatly and politically.
