There's some kind of hard to articulate label that goes with this mindset. Honorless, cowardice, the opposite of strong. The opposite of dependable. Fickle, in a soy reddit "im so empathetic" type of way, on a wider, more retarded, societal scale. It is one of the most disgusting things he's said because it reveals how much he doesn't care about family at all.

The thing is, usually when people say shit like this, it only goes for one side which is understandable to an extent. I'm forced to the conclusion that he has some kind of weird repressed trauma having to do with his family because there's just no excuse for this. Or he's just a brainwashed commie.

According to Dev, the law is supposed to protect the rights of immigrants that enter the country illegally (that means by breaking the law) but it's also an infallible construct that can never be corrupted or questioned, which means you have to turn your parents in to the authorities when they question it and protest through civil disobedience.
