It's not the first time Pat and the EFAP sphere have crossed paths. There might have even been an additional crossover before this as well but I don't have have enough interest in EFAP to know for certain.
I keep tabs on Pat in the event he descends into cowdom. I am ecstatic at the thought he might get into a shitflinging competition with Hbomberguy over the upcoming Fallout vid.

edit: regardless of what you might think about EFAP, the neverknowsbest drama is pretty fucking funny and it's absolutely some quality second monitor content.

Wasn't one of the takes from Gamergate that everyone fucked up because gamers assumed they won, but in reality the other side just moved to the background and everyone stopped paying attention; therefore leading us to the DEI era? Wouldn't it be a good idea to keep tabs on these people so that that doesn't happen again? We can say all we want about DEI dying to unpopularity, but I still see like 90% of the white collar jobs I'm applying to mention DEI in some way or form still. Sure, Kirsche is probably focusing too hard on it, but outright saying it's a complete waste to pay attention to it is probably the worst answer.

Fundamentally, it's because he is in denial. Not at the possibility that it's happening. At the very least, Dev does begrudgingly admit that the logic of the Right is sound in both his videos on the Competency Crisis and this one. That the concerns the Right has of these potential problems can happen. His denial is that he believes that it hasn't gotten bad enough for action to be taken. That the systems in place will "solve the problem itself." It's in the same way a man with a fever takes a cold pill to avoid going to the doctor.

Thus he views all attempted action in bad faith. Cause it "isn't bad enough" to justify it. This goes beyond just DEI, it's the core problem with all his bad takes. Ruby Ridge, Trump, Destiny, you name something this board calls him on and the answer he'll give is that it wasn't "bad enough." Some invisible line that wasn't crossed and now this action is a power grab, or retarded, or something else.
