It's a religion, it really aught NOT to change (assuming they are operating from some claim to truth). After watching these both, my personal biggest issue, though this view does come steeped in my libertarian ideological beliefs, is that Dev totally fucks this up because he either does not understand or does not respect freedom of association and disassociation (you gotta have em both, you can't have one without the other). This principle doesn't just apply to associating with people.

Sweep all of the idpol to the side. Ignore the trans stuff for now because you don't need to even invoke it in order to prove why Dev is being retarded here (not to say it doesn't matter, just that we don't need to use it for this explanation).

The Bud Light boycott was a case of a consumer exercising their freedom of disassociation against a brand and deciding to boycott the brand, thus disassociating themselves with the brand. Reason doesn't matter, it could be as retarded as "they made the blue on the can lighter". In this case, nothing is wrong, nobody has their freedoms violated.

The Hogwarts Legacy harassment campaign was a step further. It was boycotting the product but also attempting to utilise social pressure and harassment tactics to ensure others also boycott the product. Instead of just exercising their right to disassociate from a product, they are now also infringing upon another's right to associate to a product. And at it's most basic level, libertarian principles follow the basic rule of "you have freedom as far as you infringe upon the freedoms of another person".
