Finally beat DMD for 5. Does anyone actually like doing this mode? I went from 70 gorbs to around 50 in the last 2 missions. At least with Hell or hell it’s just SoS enemy placement. Jesus.

I liked it more than HoH because of how delayed everything is if you mess up in HoH.

Use less/no gorbs to force yourself to get good.
 
For anyone with the PC version, if you have a Denuvoless .exe for the game you can get a trainer to get into Bloody Palace already. I knew there were lists with all the floors out but apparently BP is fully in the game. Them taking a month to do this, even if it is going through rebalancing and finalizing BP seems like a bit much for that alone. If something doesn't drop with this, or be revealed with the release of it I'm gonna be baffled.

Unlike the Bayonetta one, which had the Bayonetta characters cross into the Dx2 world via a parallel world kind of plot, the Devil May Cry crossover is a bit different.

Nero and Dante are both pretty kickass in different ways. Nero gets a nice buff after every turn that auto buffs his magical damage and can pierce lightning resistances, while Dante's Rapid Shot gives him an insanely high chance of critical hits, which grant bonus turns for your team. Dante also gets auto physical attack strength buffs after a turn in combat.

As we link up with Dante to try and make some sense of all this crap, that's when Nico warns us Nero's gone batshit and you have to kick his ass.

Only each Nero we take down makes more spawn.

And that's when the real one shows up and starts kicking the ass of his shitty clones, the demons created them, to fuck with him apparently.

We also get the confirmation that Nico and Dante had yet to meet until this crossover, implying this is a prequel to DMC5.

Once you all compare notes, you decide to look for V, and a demon named "Alice", who seems to know what the hell is going on.

Note: For those unfamiliar with Shin Megami Tensei's Alice, she's an undead little girl demon who turns people into zombies and is partially based on Alice in Wonderland.

Anyway, we finally catch up to Alice, and she confirms she made the Nero clones:

Alice explains Mother is gonna make all their struggling meaningless, but before that happens, she asks her classic line:

"DIE FOR ME"

Note: This is her unique skill, has a high chance of causing instant death.

Also, neither Dante nor Nero are really thrilled to take her up on this, and we join them in kicking her necromantic ass.

As she croaks, she informs us "Mother" will be pleased at our strength, adding Mother will eat everyone as she dies for real.

Later we find out Nero and Dante consider each other competition, V is just Dante's client but neither he nor Nero want to see him die to these demons for the hell of it either.

And that's when this guy challenges us:

Turns out he's challenging us to a race, and while we have to beat him to a nearby mountain, we have to beat the crap out of the demonic speedbumps slowing us down.

AKA, we kick his ass.

As we do, he realizes "Mother" called you here, and he's pretty chill as he fades away, saying he'll be waiting in Hell for them, doesn't want them losing to her before then.

For once, there is a demon that has won Dante's respect a little since we all got here:

Keep in mind Nero dissed Thor as a diaper wearer and Dante shot Abaddon (the chief demon of the abyss in Judeo-Christian lore) in the face prior.

Finally, after beating up several more demons, we find Beelzebub, the ugly bastard who kidnapped V.

That's right, for those who don't know your demonology, he's "The Lord of The Flies", a bastardized parody of the Baals worshiped by the Canaanite people in the times of the Israelites. One of his attacks is literally shooting his damned maggots at you, as if he weren't gross enough.

He starts talking shit, neither Dante or Nero are impressed, so he decides to get on to the kicking of your ass.

When you finally make him a smear on a newspaper, he's not pissed, he's even MORE pleased, saying the most powerful soul will soon return to Mother, and he will enjoy watching you despair from the beyond.

Nero and Dante have no damn clue what he meant, but at least we rescued V.



However, V informs us we've just be playing into Mother's hands the whole time.

The world we are in, Limbus, it's a construct. Mother created it to gather powerful souls to feed on, and by taking down the other demons, guess who became her favored game to hunt.

Or that's what you thought.

Instead, she wanted the souls of the demon you slew. By killing them you freed them from their corporeal bodies so she could feed on them.

Basically, you've been feeding this bitch the whole time.

You all were summoned to do her dirty work. Mother basically wanted her food easier to chew, you softened it up for her.

But if she gains the power of all the souls you unwittingly fed her, YOU WILL BE HER NEXT MEAL.

Dante and Nero are impressed they got played, but they are all:

"Well, who doesn't like a challenge? Let's kick her ass!"

V joins up to help, and we decide to hunt her ass down.

Just finished the scenario in all difficulties. After grinding for red orbs I now have the Boomer, the Zoomer and the "V"irgin. The dream team is now finally complete.

EDIT: Apparently you can fuse each one of them with what seems to be a specific demon. But which one...? ?

Servers for SMT Dx2 shit the bed on me for awhile, seem to be back, let's finish this up.


V let's us know that "Mother" has even bigger plans once they get powerful enough, like having this 'Limbus" pocket world bleed into other realities and turning them into an even bigger hunting ground for souls, and we obviously don't want that shit, since that would mean this Limbus bleeds into the DMC5 and SMT worlds.

Also, V is our preset support demon for these fights, like Dante and Nero were in earlier levels.

Also, unlike Nero and Dante, both of which were of the Fiend Race and specialized in direct attacks, V is the same race, but he specializes in passive skills that make your party OP, like giving their attacks ALMIGHTY attributes, meaning they tear through any resistances and ignore defense.

He's nothing to write home about offensively (althougth all attacks he has are ALMIGHTY attributed by default, which is never a bad thing), but the passive bonuses he hands to your party are amazing.

He comments on it after a fight with a Chimera, noting his skills complement your demons nicely.

After tearing through some more demons, we finally meet "Mother":

Meet The Mother Harlot, whom, for those that read the Christian Book of Revelation, would also know as "The Whore of Babylon", the embodiment of all the decadence and hedonistic pleasures that drag Men down to the depths of Perdition, riding the scarlet beast with crowned heads exactly as said book describes.

This is the bitch who set this shit up.

She thanks you all for powering her up, and when she says she's gonna have your souls next, Dante, Nero, and V tell her their souls aren't leaving their bodies without a fight.

She's cool with that.

This bitch can Charm your asses with a 30% chance every damn turn, and her Babylon Goblet attack hurts like hell and drains MP.

Basically, this bitch needs to die FAST.

FYI, her Goblet attack references the same one she wields in Revelation, in which is the wine of all the iniquities of Man.

Oh yeah, she can drain elemental attacks like Lightning, though Ice works well enough.

Once you take her ass down, she starts begging for mercy, but no one on your team is giving the slightest shit about showing any.

Cue Dante and Nero giving her an utter beatdown until she's one very dead Harlot.

As you kick her ass, the pocket world starts to come unglued, and you guys are gonna be sent back to your worlds as a result as this one crumbles apart.

Dante, Nero, Nico, and V say goodbye, but sense you just might be able to summon their power if you need their help.

And it all ends with you waking up in your world in the Liberators (the SMT Dx2 good guys) hideout, and then it turns out your phone has a message from Nico.

Somehow, they got through despite it being another dimension away, and the call ends as Nero is fighting some demons in the background.

As the event ends, you can get a four star Nero as a reward, and if you keep playing the event stages like an autist and get 1000 Red Soul items (rewards for these levels) before the event ends, you can trade them for a 4 star V.


Overall, like the Bayonetta event, I give this good marks for the story, being entertaining, and the crossover being fun and making sense.
 
I almost wish I didn't burn myself out on Dx2 for this. Vs ability sounds pretty good for a relatively cheap pierce. I'm surprised though they didn't pull out some variation of the Nocturne seal.

Didn't play the game for about a week (real life, you know), and now it's like my skill is atrophying.

This is something that always happens to me when I play DMC. Those games are so skill-intensive it's nuts.
 
BP is here. 101 floors just like in DMC4.
Made it to floor 96 before dying to a goddamn Fury. DMD difficulty kicks in at floor 81.
 
My game is crashing like no tomorrow now. I've made it to floor 11 or 12 and almost always the game crashes. I've updated drivers, uninstalled old drivers, updated DX, lowered settings, edited the ini and nothing fucking helps. I just want the slick hair taunt.
