Novelty, I guess. Though not so much an Islamic Naruto, but just a Middle Eastern shonen anime. There is Otoyomegatari though, and it has really nice art.

I feel like characters would die off a lot faster due to the heavy use of the Jihad style: suicide bombing attack.

Agreed, Middle Eastern settings are generally cool. Of course, if such a thing came out today, there would be uproar about it from all sides.
