The first game was shit, and hearing more news about the sequel doesn't change my opinion about the series in the slightest.

While I enjoy the style of gameplay that Destiny offers, I don't think I've been this disappointed with a title since probably Diablo 3's original release.

For being an MMO, it is by far the loneliest and most isolated of games, as you have no easy or convenient way to interact with the world around you.

Even the simple concept of having a local or clan chat is forbidden, so as to provide a safe environment for people to play their games in. I get it, local chat can be toxic, but allow the option to turn it off as well as a block list, and all is good in the world. Pandering to the snowflakes that need safe spaces is honestly rather insulting in this day and age.

They stripped more or less all the decent 'progression' from the game and replaced it with an easy gear-up system just by playing and doing certain events with little to no effort required.

I've only got something around 12 hours into the game so far, and I'm already at level cap and well on my way towards hitting the Light cap on my gear. And I can already tell that the content is going to dry up in a week or two and I'll be moving onto something else more than likely because I'll be out of things to do.

Unfortunately, a great soundtrack and beautiful worldbuilding means next to nothing if there's no content to sate even the most casual of players, much less those who play significantly more on a weekly basis.

Also as an aside, allow me to paint a picture of just how cucked Bungie is. They released an elite in their store(microtransactions) that allowed players to glitch into walls and shoot out but were unable to be hit in return. Instead of refunding the purchase and removing it from the store, they merely removed the weekend PVP event and still don't know how they are going to fix it.

Is Destiny worth playing solo?
No. I only really enjoyed the first game when playing with a few friends, and the second game has already bored me. I'm downloading warframe tonight. Didn't really get into it last time I played it (which was at least a year ago), but I'm willing to give it a shot now.

Bungie has seriously dropped the ball on this one.

It's pretty fun, warframe that is. I gotta start playing it again after i play the fuck out of dot hack.

I mean, buying it on sale it was what, $35? I play it solo (because my friends are cunts) and the in/out way of doing one or two story missions in a row is pretty good. Sure it'd be better with friends and banter, but Borderlands is the same. The humor makes up 80% of BL and is lost if you play alone.

I don't see why people expect to play like an MMORPG. Log in every single day to grind 5 things and never play anything else. Sure the lack of a chat and any community feeling is borderline unreal in this day and age, but treating it like any other game, it's still pretty fine imo. Hell, $35 for +12 hours is uncommon to me these days.

I can understand the hate based on potential being lost, but as someone who never touched D1, it seems fairly okay so far.

So let me get this straight. Destiny 2 is "free to play" yet has premium expansions that offer a few hours of content at most. Now they're releasing MORE premium content not included in the previous season pass. And to add insult to injury, you cannot even ACCESS the content you PAID for before?

"Shut up, goy! Buy the inferior product we've given you again and again and again, because you're a mongoloid!"
The dogshit writing already put me off the game, and when I'd heard about this when they started floating the idea a few years ago, ostensibly to "reduce bloat and streamline the new player experience", it was obvious that this was going to happen. Anyone who keeps playing is a tard of the highest caliber.

Honestly, anyone with a braincell could see that Destiny even during its debut was shit. It was essentially a PvE grindfest with very poor telling of lore and enemy design. Almost everything was "shoot variations of x" with some of the most dumb enemy names I've seen.

I am genuinely surprised that the game even has a strong following, and with it, its brand of retards in the game complaining about Bungie's stingyness. Fancy how a $60 game-turned free-to-play is more expensive than say, Warframe or World of Tanks.

You say that, but I met multiple people who unironically play the game "for the lore".

I do suspect the same class of people would like Dark Souls for """lore""".

To be honest it's too late to complain. If people (not YongYea) don't like it, they should have voiced their opinion a long time ago when Bungie started to sunset the gear and the story content.

The Grimorie actually is cool.

I've been playing a little Destiny 2 since my friend asked me to. I tried out the PVE content and found it to be just a grindfest of the same enemies and people getting mad because I didn't have the most optimal guns.

I really enjoyed crucible until I was yelled at for not popping my super as soon as I could to get free kills on top of getting scolded for enjoying crucible at all.

I'm not really enjoying Destiny 2 much anymore.

For me, it was fun until roughly Osiris. After that it just seemed like the devs were phoning it in.

iirc it wasn't even done by bunghole, activision had some other studios do it because bunghole was too inept to do it while working on forsaken. ofc back then it was evil activision keeping poor bungie down and everything would be great if they'd just split...
