new order, hands down. i almost like new order more than joy division. older depeche mode was really awesome though, but idk..i saw them a few years ago , live..and it wasnt that good. "everything counts" indeed, when you are charging 60 bucks for a damn t shirt. i do like "strangelove", the depeche mode cover band.

I love both and @Kenya Jones BASED Joy Division is under rated. I'm no music expert but over all I'd say Depeche mode is better and covers more.

Now I feel the need for another glass of wine and Bizarre love triangle 12" mix on my record player. Because that shit is COMFY music.

Also fwiw I turned off Frank Sinatra to bump this on my turn table.

I think Joy Division is perfectly rated, not 100% normie but even some of the more basic bitch ones listen to them, although they probably get a more surface level view of the lyrics.

You saw a 40 year old band a few years ago and they weren't as good? I'm shocked!

...And the old stuff was better?
Dreaming of Me
New Life
Just Can't Get Enough
See You
The Meaning of Love
Leave in Silence
All worse than their later works. These ones are too poppy, not dark enough. Mid Depeche Mode was best, like around the time when they played at the Rose Bowl.

That's a really hard choice, especially if you're including Joy Division with New Order. For me it's Depeche Mode but just barely, almost too close to call.
