DEFCON was a game by introversion, the devs behind games such as Darwinia, Uplink, and the more recent Prison Tycoon, in which you control your alliance through a nuclear war. You accomplish this through managing your navy, airforce, radars, and ICBM silos. The main goal being to destroy everyone else while taking the least damage. It's currently $10 on steam, and will likley be able to be had for $2 during the winter sale again. Anyone else still have this lying around in their inventory? Been dying to play it again, perhaps as a realtime (1x game speed) game to be done while movie night is going on or something, as it minimizes to the notification bar if you double hit escape, and blips if something such as a launch happens.

I've had this for a few years and never actually played it, although I've watched a few games online. Most of the people who play it are so scary good at it I'd have to read some kind of moron guide even to play it.

The best way to play it is drunk, at 1x speed, in the game mode were everyone starts in one big alliance. Lots of paranoid yelling, accusations, and backstabbing results.

DEFCON is depressing as fuck to play. I still won the war for America.

I've got it, played for a while, never touched multiplayer. Can't seem to find a way to win.

Multiplayer is crazy hard. People have been playing it for so long that they can anticipate all your fleet movements and blind-fire a spread of nukes that wipes out most of your ships.
