Haven't checked out the new season, so no idea if the new developers are a good fit for the game. But I am baffled that we still have to wait for a perk rework.

I will hand it to the devs: the Diesel Driven skins are pretty good. Though conversely it took some time before they nerfed the ground leeches.

I want a new boss battle. The care taker fight was peak

The writing has been on the wall for a while now that Rogue Core is replacing DRG, especially with the ability to go back and replay seasons. The devs themselves even said that Rogue Core started as an update and just grew too big in scope. I am not sure if anyone played the Vermintide 2 roguelite mode, but Rogue Core seems to be a lot like that.

Hopefully they do it better than Chaos Wastes then because as far as diet roguelites go, it was barebones as fuck, even if fun. Recent datamining of Darktide revealed that it's getting a mode akin to the Chaos Wastes too, though it's probably just an expansion of the Mortis Trials system extrapolated over a series of maps.
I'm more or less done with DRG until they add new gear or overclocks, Rogue Core included.

The core (;DDD) idea of Rogue Core is flawed anyway - each upgrade can be picked only once, which means you'll get booted if you pick something the host wanted to pick, then of course standing near the flying drone-mule to get an upgrade - good luck telling randoms in pubs to do that, all while there is a time limit of sorts. DRG already has a lot of "let's hope it will work out" multiplayer mechanics, this game is just gonna have the same problems but they will be x10 more common and worse. It's retarded and the fact that they haven't backed down from this and other ideas means the playtesters are bunch of fags not worth anything.

Why does the female dwarf look like someone you'd find struggling to get out of a Walmart mobility car?
Goes to show I'm late to the fucken party but one of the things that gave DRG charm in a genre saturated by retarded modern industry practices was that there were only male characters, and the character dynamics coupled with the setting that were so enjoyed were only possible because of there only being men. It's a game about mining and mining is manly even if the average DRG player is a lispy discord gimp. Introducing women and not even the bearded dwarf female meme, just lumpy german women disrupts that. I hope that far far west game takes the wind out of rogue core's sails completely.

Yeah in this game there are two female characters now apparently, they both look super fucking out of place

I hope we get a mod day one to change their faces and voice (could be done with pitch adjustment in some program maybe?). You would still need to change the frame (body), but I can live with that as the heavy armor makes it harder to tell them from each other.

based on what i saw:
they got rid of mining (only expenite available), exploration, mission types, mission control (replaced with a retarded stuttering AI) and secondaries
added a lot of tedious HOLD E type of structures
recycled biomes and weapons (a few new ones added)
force you to speedrun each stage which is the opposite of DRG where you get rewarded for thoroughness
made the core spawn the main enemy which look generic and boring
you can't join mid game

maybe it will get better when it's out of early access but there's not enough meat on the bone to justify this being a new game

Getting rid of mission control alone is a deal breaker. That's the voice of DRG. It's Darkest Dungeon without Wayne June.
Everything else sounds like all the worst practices of contemporary friendslop. There are tons of alternatives that do it better, early access or otherwise. I'd love to know why they chose to not incorporate it into the existing DRG platform because I'm sure it's a shit reason.

This is not longer true as of Playtest #6.

You mean why it wasn't baked into the main game? It runs on old spaghetti code, adding things to it right now is already making the game unstable; adding all the Rogue Core features would just turn it into crash simulator.

I enjoy DRG, but rogue core just doesnt feel DRG to me. I get that its basically a horde shooter with objectives but idk i prefer the slowness and being methodical in DRG rather than whatever rogue core is doing. Thats not to say i think is a bad game, just something that feels alien to the series as a whole. I get it that they are branching out.

Damn I just assumed that this game will be a sequel with similar gameplay so I was really excited. My fault for not paying attention I guess, seems like the info's been out for a while. I don't even enjoy horde shooters normally, DRG is the only exception and the mining and exploring is the main attraction to me. I really hope the devs realize that DRG has it's own playerbase and don't abandon it.
