We got our keyart for Season 6:

And people already found the hidden release date clues; we're getting Season 6 on January 29. Hopefully my old mods will still work by then...

Can't say I'm too excited. They're adding more new annoying enemies but seemingly no new ways of dealing with them. No mention of new guns, or even overclocks anywhere to make unuderused gimmick weapons actually viable (looking at you Subata, LOKI, Hurricane and others). The new mission can't be worse than that dogshit deep scan they introduced last time, though.

Was the rumor that GSG moved on to other projects and DRG was maintained by a skeleton crew ever substantiated? Because it sure seems that way. I honestly wouldn't expect new weapons, gadgets, overclocks ever. The best thing I have to say about this update is that I like the Indiana Jones outfits but even that's paywalled.

They literally said themselves Season 6 is developed by a third-party studio called Invisible Walls.

Embracer Group derived soyboys, but eh, maybe it won't be that bad? At least it's content, fucking finally. I won't be buying the DLC anyway.

the mission is just "find resonance crystals" but without the payoff of getting to a nice looking cave

the enemy is a mactera with armor

the crystals that are hidden in a seperate cave are nothing new, it's like finding lost gear without having to scan a helmet

the voice acting is weird, do we know if it's the same guy as before?

i hope this is because it's the first time working on DRG for these devs and the next seasons are getting better.

it's basically the resonance crystals mission, but it just...ends? you just dig up 3-4 balls and end the mission, no cool epic fight at the end (doretta, mule repair missions) or anything, swarms afaik aren't tied to digging one of these out (like in the eggs mission), it's a very barebones mission type. it's easy and short, and that's it, there's no BANG to it.

the new bugs seem to be very weak to fire and ice. guess im going to be playing driller for most of the season. also, the new enemy that buries in the ground is not fucking visible at all, you have to scan every room with scanner because it has the same color palette as the new biome. who thought this was a good idea? i didnt complain about the scorpion glyphid, i thought that was pretty balanced even when he had no cooldown on grab, but this is just retarded.

the cave where you find the new seasonal event always looks the same, there's nothing interesting to it. with other seasonal events, terrain plays a big role in how the fight goes, but since here it's always an additional room, it goes the same way everytime


the season framework is very clean, I like it a lot, they do have experience in this field it seems, I will definitely be gettin all of it and the lvl 81 helmet, then make my way up to 100 to get all cosmetics and drop the game until season 7 in 2029, it doesn't really change the game experience all that much

haz3 shitters in drg's discord are already saying how the trapjaw is fine because "its le heckin game about dangerous caves and u have to look at the ground epic style!!!" - no, I will not ping half the cave with my scanner just to make sure there is no nigger ready to grab me there. fuck you.

of course, GSG can't be wrong in xer/xems echochamber. so many retards going "i'm just glad we got anything for a 5 year old game, be grateful" as if GSG didn't say they'll release more seasons and are pushing paid DLCs

did you play the new mission type a few times?
because the cave generation is in my opinion absolutely fucked. it took atleast 40 mins every mission just finding the chunks. way too many small tunnels leading nowhere, too vertical for non scout players.

It's basically the drillevator mission without the last stage, no indicator is kinda scuffed since you just have to run around and hope the last ball isn't hidden in some retarded place
i've been playing mostly driller the last season but this season incentivizes it even more, the new mission type is a chore without c4 and being able to drill tunnels, and the new enemies are weak to fire/ice, i tried a shotgun build on engi and realized im useless against them since i have to politely wait till they open up
 
I'm glad we finally got a new biome, but...Are the devs ever gonna give us something to do with the years of error cubes we've been collecting?

Devs have fucked off to work on other games, any updates to DRG are outsourced to some Z list contractors
 
the new seasonal event seems to have fucked up spawn rates
with season 4 and 5 i remember you would get it pretty much every mission, now sometimes it's like 1 in 5
 
Wow I only now saw that the new season was live thanks to the double XP announcement. Guess I won't be reinstalling, that sounds like a big pile of meh.
